This could be an Entry Level position for the right candidate—we are looking for someone who loves to learn, welcomes new ideas and wants to be an integral part of a results-oriented and collaborative team. This is a customer service-intensive position!

The Commercial Service Representative role is an in-person position based in Warrenton, Virginia. While it is an in-office position, we do have flexible options to accommodate family emergencies, sicknesses, etc.

Pay rate is $50,000 to $65,000 annually, depending on skills and experience plus opportunities to earn commissions

Commercial Service Representative Expectations

• A key responsibility of the Commercial Service Representative is supporting the commercial sales team by preparing quotes and handling other administrative duties

• You will work closely with our VP of Sales and Service Operations, who will rely on you to get the new business processed and handle other administrative tasks for the commercial lines

• You’ll manage new commercial insurance accounts through the underwriting process

• Each day, you will assist our commercial customers with changes to their insurance program

• You’ll take payments from customers by credit card, check or money order

• You will manage the renewals of our commercial insurance accounts

• An important part of this role will be helping commercial customers during their claims process by calling or emailing to ensure the insurance company is doing their part

• You will communicate positively and proactively with prospects, customers, insurance underwriters, and internal staff

• We are all about education at Puffenbarger, so you will develop knowledge of various commercial insurance carriers and their products and you will have the opportunity to gain several designations while working here!

• We will rely on you to provide a world class experience over the life of our commercial customers

Commercial Service Representative Skills and Experience

• Customer Service experience

• Sales or Account Management experience

• Enjoys speaking with prospective and current customers—both on the phone and via email

• Able to quickly triage customer needs and determine the appropriate actions

• Extremely tech savvy... flip phones need not apply

• Solid communication skills, both written and verbal

• Positive attitude and solutions-oriented

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office

• Comfortable using electronic communication, storage, etc. (Google Drive, Microsoft Outlook, proprietary software)

• Property & Casualty License will need to be obtained within 30 days (we will reimburse you once the exam has been passed)

• Insurance industry experience preferred

• Ability to pass employment screenings
