Commercial Sales Consultant - St. Paul, MN

All Energy Solar is seeking a Sales Consultant to join our dedicated commercial team, reporting to our Director of Business Development. You will be responsible for taking the lead on pre-qualified new commercial customer opportunities and interacting with those companies to focus on projects of varying sizes and types. This position serves as the account lead for any assigned new project opportunities and takes responsibility from the project qualification stage through the contracting phase. Customer interactions begin with discovery/introduction meetings, and work continues internally with our Commercial Solutions team who assist in customizing an evaluation and energy solution models and cost estimates for each opportunity. Learn and execute various types of project solutions, advocate for available government and utility programs and incentives in the marketplace, and take each customer through the associated financial and environmental benefits these projects deliver. Track and manage your pipeline with a variety of CRM and company tools.

The position will also regularly attend customer meetings and public events on behalf of All Energy Solar, both for our industry and others that represent our diverse client base. Some travel may be required.

Job Duties

  • Report to our St Paul headquarter office for work - some flexibility possible.

  • Train with our experienced commercial solar professionals to develop industry expertise to be able to effectively communicate All Energy Solar's services

  • Develop an understanding of the complexities behind scoping, pricing, and installation of commercial energy systems

  • Understand utility programs and options for renewable energy, custom to the market and project site.

  • Analyze each customer's facilities and electrical usage, then establish solution recommendations for each site based on those findings

  • Create and deliver professional presentations

  • Evaluate and respond to public and private RFPs related to renewable energy systems

  • Communicate with customers during and after the sales process, providing information and assistance as needed

  • Participate in meetings with the extended commercial team to support workflow after each sale

  • Travel locally and regionally to customer properties for site walks, meetings, and presentations

  • Contribute independent and innovative strategies to the sales and marketing teams

  • Generate your own new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and other independent prospecting

  • Participate in relevant industry events, professional development, and marketplace duties

  • Some travel required outside the region, typically less than 5%

Skills/Qualifications

  • Solar industry and product knowledge / experience preferred, ideally with commercial and industrial customers

  • Demonstrate a history of meeting and exceeding trackable sales goals

  • Have a willingness to work a customer-centric schedule, which can stretch outside of standard business hours

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity and size at different stages

  • Talent for building relationships with commercial customers from independent entrepreneurs to corporate executives

  • Confidence giving presentations in person and virtually

  • Experience with Salesforce, Salesloft or similar CRM experience preferred

  • Experience with Google suite and MS Office suite preferred

  • Enthusiasm for developing business and interacting with a variety of people

  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; combination of education and relevant Sales and/or Marketing work experience also acceptable

Compensation

  • This is a salaried position with a base range of $60,000-$80,000, depending on qualifications/experience

  • Supplemental sales commission package will be offered

  • PTO accrued up to 80 hours in the first year, increasing to 120 hours after the first year
