STATUS: Exempt, regular full-time

Purpose: Source, cultivate and establish relationships with new business prospects. Facilitate the negotiation and origination of commercial loans and lines of credit appropriate to the needs of the client.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
With or without reasonable accommodation must be able to perform all essential job functions as described below.

  • Identify and cultivate leads and opportunities for new business development. Includes cold-calling, solicitation of referrals, participation in sales and marketing promotions and attendance at, or membership in various community and industry organizations and community events.

  • Establish relationships with potential business clients to identify their credit and other banking needs. Collaborate with community relationship officers to develop and present proposals to prospective clients. Facilitate the negotiation and sale of appropriate banking solutions.

  • Facilitate the introduction of new and existing clients to internal and external business partners to promote the sale of deposit account, cash management services, insurance and investment products, appropriate to the needs and interests of the client.

  • Manage the client relationship. Collaborate with the Portfolio Manager and serve as liaison between existing clients and banking service units to help ensure client satisfaction and retention.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Effective business development and sales skills

  • Knowledge of commercial credit products, concepts, processes, and functions

  • Knowledge of applicable federal/state banking regulations

  • Knowledge of business management and planning tools, including financial statements and ratios, budgets, inventory and accounts receivable turnover

  • Knowledge of business deposit, cash management and electronic banking products and services

  • Effective math skills, including ratios, percentages, interest and amortization

  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements, business reports and legal documents

  • Excellent judgment and problem solving skills

  • Effective business writing skills

  • Professional demeanor, speaking and presentation skills

  • Proficiency at speaking, reading and writing English

  • Computer proficiency, including Windows and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Ability to drive (current driver's license/clear driving record) or travel in market area

  • Ability to perform essential job functions under general supervision

Experience and/or Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business/ accounting or equivalent training/experience

  • Two years of commercial lending experience, or equivalent training and experience

Travel/Physical Demands:

  • Ability to drive (current driver's license/clear driving record) or travel in market area

Prepare reports and summaries to assist account officers with underwriting loan requests and managing current relationships. Contact relationship office to obtain missing information or clarification. * Input (spread) the financial data into the PC-based analysis program. * Monitor compliance with loan covenants and reporting requirements. Initiate appropriate follow-up when an out-of-compliance situations exists. * Update the tickler system, as necessary, and forward documentation to Electronic Content Management. * Input data from financial spreads into web-based risk model and complete the Moody's RiskCalc report.
