Overview:

Genomic Health is seeking a Commercial Projects and Events Manager responsible for managing the execution of Commercial projects in support of Commercial Sales, Marketing and Medical Affairs objectives/goals. The position reports to the Associate Director, Marketing Services, and is a "hands on" position working with various levels of management and departments through the Commercial Sales, Marketing and Medical Affairs organization.

The ideal candidate needs to be comfortable working in a dynamic growth environment with shifting priorities. This role will be responsible for 1). Program and project management across the Commercial organization, 2). Coordinate and execute a variety of marketing events, 3) Develop and manage processes and procedures in the Commercial organization to ensure operations are streamlined and run efficiently.

The idea candidate will have a minimum of 3+ years of project management experience, and 3+ years of event planning experience. The candidate should be well organized, capable of successfully interacting at multiple levels within the organization and excel at working in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manages commercial projects/events assigned, develops detailed project timelines/work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Manages overall milestones from concept to delivery and assure budget targets are achieved.

  • Establishes and manages tailored program/project production process. Leads cross functional team development and participation on a regular basis and ensure timely execution of key milestones in support of overall project objectives. Identifies critical path items; anticipate needs and risks associated with project completion and drive the project to successful completion.

  • Monitors, tracks, and reports the performance of each initiative/program/project assigned.

  • Establish and continually foster strong teamwork partnerships across the GHI organization in the execution of assigned responsibilities.

  • Develops, manages and executes processes and procedures across Commercial to ensure operations and communications are streamlied, run efficiently, cost effectively and in a compliant manner.

  • Develops/maintains strong service-oriented relationships with external customers, vendors, associations.

  • Monitor contract stipulations/deadlines according to established compliance guidelines and partner with the Compliance Team in managing commercial contract processes.

  • Coordinates logistics in support of exhibits, meetings, and/or events as assigned.

  • Participates in the development of metrics and processes to ensure successful event execution.

  • Flexibility to travel will be expected in this role to ensure successful execution of events.

Qualifications

  • B.A. Degree in Liberal Arts, Marketing, or Communications or related major to the life sciences market

  • Approximately 3+ years in a project management or marketing/communications management role

  • Working knowledge of Stark Law, Sunshine Act, and other rules and regulation regarding medical events as they related to physicians and healthcare professionals.

  • Experience in healthcare, diagnostics, and/or life sciences marketing a plus

  • Strong written/verbal and interaction communication skills; ability to provide clear, informative, and timely information as appropriate to cross-functional project teams and interact with all levels of the organization

  • Demonstrated experience in successful implementation of multiple operational and/or marketing projects/programs simultaneously

  • Ability to work independently and make effective judgment calls regarding project/process milestones

  • Resourceful, ability to creatively solve problems of diverse scope with detailed follow-through

  • Ability to effectively lead cross functional project teams

  • Exhibit effective project management skills

  • Previous experience managing a variety of vendor relationships and contract negotiations

  • Broad expertise in the various software programs used to deliver communication tools

The site engineer is responsible to plan and/or provide input into the planning of the office, lab, vivarium and support at Redwood city operations. He/she will oversee the development of related architectural, process, equipment, instrumentation and piping scopes of work for the these R&D facilities. This includes the identification and resolution of on-going operational problems and the providing of consulting, engineering or architectural professional services related to their resolution and the implementation of approved capital improvements. Consequently, this position must effectively interact with operations personnel at all levels of the company, senior management and third parties under contract to BMS. As a result, excellent oral and written communications skills are essential. To implement strategic plans, problem resolution and capital projects, the position will lead in the management and oversight of third party consultants, Architectural and Engineering firms, vendors and/or construction service providers. He/she will assist in the selection of such firms and will coordinate the preparation of the technical scope of work and the services to be provided by such firms on a project basis. The projects will be managed from conception to turnover to Facilities operations. The typical total constructed values of these turn key projects typically range from less than $25,000 to $1 million but larger facility consolidation projects are possible in the future. The Site engineer will also facilitate change management, cost and schedule compliance and the reporting of these projects. For purchased engineered equipment or systems, the Site Engineer will also oversee the preparation, review and approval of data sheets, design drawings, other documentation by third parties and the development of purchase requisitions. He/she will also coordinate and/or participate in the expediting, physical inspection, Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests. The Site Engineer will be responsible to participate in department, customer and team meetings and interact, assist and otherwise cooperate with other BMS departments in the resolution of facilities issues.
