Job Description:

The Commercial Project Manager works within a matrix organization establishing the Siemens "four-eyes" principle for new bookings and contract execution in conjunction with Marketing & Sales and Project Managers.

The purpose of the Commercial Project Manager role is to secure high level forecasting, coordination and execution of commercial activities during the quotation, booking, and execution phases of projects. Skillsets range from cost management, cash flow, commercial terms evaluation and management, issue resolution, revenue recognition forecasting and execution, and may involve Percentage of Completion revenue recognition model.

Position Qualifications:

Required:

  • Project management skills, negotiation skills, strategic & analytic competence, be able to work under pressure, skills to understand & interpret financial figures

  • Pro-active personality

  • Positive interpersonal communication & conflict resolution skills

Organized

  • Motivated team player

  • 1-3 years experience as Commercial Project Controller or other relevant project experience. The Commercial Project Manager shall at all times and in average be able to demonstrate competency and experience in all fields of expertise with, if the case requires supervision or consultancy from a Senior Commercial Project Manager, Commercial Project Director or the Head of Commercial Project Management.

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Science or Business Administration. Alternatively a Degree in the field of commercial business administration, Finance or Accounting with substantial working experience and proven skills within relevant fields.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge in Oracle and/or SAP
  • MS Office skills
  • CPM@Siemens Small or C certification (if not currently certified, possess a pro-active willingness to complete certification program)

Position Responsibilities:

  • General Commercial Project Management & Administration

  • Marketing and Sales Support

  • Commercial Contract reviews

  • Overseeing Project Accounting and Cost Management for assigned projects

  • Contract & Claim Management from Customers & External Partners

  • Risk & Opportunity Management

  • Handling of Bank Guarantees, Letters of Credit, or other financial instruments

  • Financial Reporting & Forecasting

  • Cost & Asset Controlling

  • Invoicing & safeguarding of payments

  • Hedging as needed

  • Coordination of Tax topics / compliance to PATAC as needed

  • On-Shore related Administration & Follow-up

  • Coordination of Insurance topics

  • Export Control Coordination

  • Management of Compliance & Anticorruption related issues

  • Acting as World Project Controller within the New Collaboration Model as necessary

In addition to what is specified above the Commercial Project Manager contributes to the general development of the Business Administration function within the Company through experience feed-back procedures, individual projects, department meetings, etc.

For more information, please visit: https://www.siemens.com/us/en/ Job Description: Position Summary: Manage projects as a business, with accountability for the management of the scope, schedule, budget, and risk of assigned projects for the supply of compressors, gas and steam turbines, and related control systems to ensure successful project execution with predictable outcomes from order entry through the warranty period. This can include new units revamps, and engineered solutions projects. Position Responsibilities: * Participate in the order capture process by supporting Regional selling teams as requested. * Manage the order entry / order transition process for assigned projects. Review order-entry package and facilitate the receipt of all required information. * Initiate the project through required formalities and internal / external kickoff meetings. * Take full ownership of scope, budget, and schedule for assigned projects in the pre-order phase, and manage those constraints after order award. * Fully understand the provisions of the contract for the project, regularly apprising functional representatives of salient provisions, and ensuring organizational compliance with all requirements. * Develop project plans as necessary to successfully execute the project. * Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and management to develop relationships that are conducive to the successful completion of the project. * Monitor and effectively report progress and status of the project to management and to the client in accordance with the project plan. * Ensure the goods and services are "flawless" (i.e. meet specifications) and are produced in compliance with the Siemens quality assurance program and the project quality plan. * Ensure that all Siemens products are delivered in accordance with the project plan. * Develop project-specific risk management plans and proactively manage technical and commercial risk throughout project execution so as to minimize company exposure * Facilitate numerous meetings with clients and company personnel during the order execution process. * Monitor and maintain the master project schedule including identification of the critical path and near critical path items, initiating and facilitating corrective and/or risk mitigation actions to maintain delivery and cost objectives. * Monitor and maintain the project budget, initiating and facilitating corrective action to maintain financial objectives. * Serve as the Siemens focal point for all communications (internal and external), questions and issues requiring action on assigned projects. * Participate in project review meetings with company management.
