We are looking for a Commercial Operations Analyst - Rebates to join our Contracts & Pricing team located in Atlanta, GA
About the role
The Commercial Operations Analyst will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of Commercial, Trade and Medicare Part D rebates in compliance with contract terms. This individual will analyze data sets to validate contract terms, utilization, unit pricing, rebate eligibility by price group, admin plus other service fees, and formulary placement. Position requires a comfort level with large data sets to audit for Rebate Eligibility (inaccurate or ineligible invoice submissions) thereby reducing the financial liability of UCB.
Who'll you'll work with
Ther Commercial Operations Analyst analyzes, packages, and presents utilization and rebate trends to internal and external stakeholders to help with contracting decisions. This individual plays a very important role for UCB in that 90% of drug utilization get processed through Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBM's) and Health Plans (Payers) who partner with UCB to ensure patient access to UCB medicines.
What you'll do
Perform rebate calculations requiring adherence to rules and understanding of contractual rebate requirements, using Revenue Management applications (Revitas, Model N, etc.), advanced Excel formulas, MS Access, and SAP programs
Methodical examination of calculations to validate contract terms and conditions that will flow through to the UCB Government Pricing team for submissions, identifying potential inconsistencies due to, for example, customer submitting inaccurate WAC pricing or requested rebate amount, outdated formulary / rebate amounts, and other inaccuracies.
Ensure customer rebate data is standardized across customers to include drug name, NDC, units, pricing, Rx, admin fees, base rebates, incentivized rebates, price protection, submission date, utilization date, etc. to ensure accuracy of transaction data
Load validated and scrubbed customer utilization into Revenue Management system
Work with customer counterparts to resolve accuracy and eligibility issues to ensure timely and accurate invoicing and payments
Business law acumen to ensure accuracy of contract terms vs. submitted invoice / utilization
Using third party, internal Single Point of Contacts (SPOC), and Account Management team to verify rebate eligibility through Drug Formulary verification
Regularly review contract volume and payment trends with SPOC and Account Management team
Prepare, route, and requests check or credit requests for customers based on own calculations and system use, tracks approvals, and maintains archival records
Maintain Payment and KPI trackers
Maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures for Rebate Analyst
Package (PowerPoint) customer reporting and/or situational analysis to support Pre-deal and Post-deal analytics team
Building partnerships and alliances with stakeholders, e.g. account management, SPOC, and customer counterparts.
Interested? For this role we're looking for the following education, experience and skills
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
2-5 years of demonstrated success in analysis, reporting, forecasting, actuary, and modeling, with preferred experience in Managed Care
Revenue Management Software experience preferred
SAP experience helpful
Ability to read and understand detailed contract language
Experience and understanding of commercial contracts in the pharmaceutical industry preferred
Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, Access
