Overview

The Commercial Analyst, Life Science is responsible to support the management, commercial, internal operations, and engineering teams to prepare quotations for customers; analyze, track, and recommend pricing for "catalog products" and custom projects; complete ad hoc analyses of customer lists and product lines to assess business performance and make recommendations to improve business performance. Strong analytical skills and ability to collaborate effectively across departments and within a matrix organization that is dynamic and moves quickly.

The individual in this role is essential to our team in analyzing new business opportunities, developing project proposals and supporting customer quoting and contracting activity, and analyzing commercial (sales & activity) performance, while making recommendations to improve that performance

Responsibilities

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Collaborate with members of management, sales & marketing, engineering, and operations teams to analyze new business or project opportunities and develop proposals and pricing based on project scope, resources, expenses, and investments pricing that meet business objectives (sales, growth, margins, etc.) Collaborate with management, sales & marketing, engineering, and operations teams to develop quotations for customers and drive them through approval process to ensure they are delivered to customer on a timely basis, product management, engineering and operations to deliver timely and accurate quotes Prepare periodic sales reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.) to provide accurate, timely management information regarding sales performance vs budgets, targets, and other key performance indicators, etc. Track and report status of customer sales activity, customers under contract, pricing, etc. and recommend pricing initiatives and actions needed ahead of contract renewals As requested, complete analysis of customer and product lines of business to assess profitability and recommend changes to improve business performance Maintain sufficient level of understanding of general business conditions and market dynamics, as well as competitor activities, to recommend pricing policies and changes to those policies Perform other responsibilities as assigned based on business needs

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business/Accounting/Finance from an accredited institution Minimum 5 years of experience with financial budgeting, forecasting, accounting and/or financial reporting 2-3 years experience in analytic roles as part of a sales management team

Computers & Technology

Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook); emphasis placed on MS Excel (vlookups, nested formulas, etc.) and Access Proficient with JDE, Oracle, SAP or similar business intelligence or enterprise reporting system platform applications Proficient with Hyperion financial tools or other similar financial consolidating systems

Acting as a key facilitator, working closely with internal and external stakeholders, program and project leads, architects, and developers the Business Analyst will ensure business requirements are translated into technical documentation and other relevant artifacts for development teams to deliver against. As an integral member of the IAM team, the Business Analyst is responsible for evaluating both business and technology issues, requirements and reporting needs to facilitate delivery of quality IAM services and reporting. The business analyst will emed with the IAM team to help troubleshoot issues while working with the business to improve the solutions and associated processes for continuous improvements. As the program grows the analyst will work with the team and partner with the business to enhance rules and roles to improve the automation of the Joiner/Mover/Leaver processes and associated access and certification reviews. This analyst will identify and document Segregation of Duties scenarios and compose applicable access control roles. This role will require excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as a desire to research and build knowledge about the products, services and technologies. In this capacity, the Business Analyst is also a leader for change and process improvement. Job Responsibilities Include: This role makes sound decisions in addressing end-user access and other security related issues. Recommends improvements to address security issues or gaps Develops, participates and documents standard operating procedures, Facilitate business process design as it relates to managing identities and access privileges such as architecture, delegated administration models, work flow models, and access control models.
