Commercial Manager, Peanut Crush

Reporting to President, GPTN, the Commercial Manager, Peanut Crush, is uniquely tasked with overseeing the peanut crushing and oil business. This includes trading of crushing stocks, crude oil (domestic and import) and peanut meal, logistics and operational planning, risk and position management, and consistent collaboration with the refined oils team regarding refined peanut oil sales.
A successful candidate will excel in market discovery, supply & demand development and analysis, customer relationship management, and work well with various cross functional teams.
Job Responsibilities (Partial Listing):
Lead commercial team in optimizing peanut crush business, targeting market share growth while optimizing OP impact.
Works with GPTN shelling business to efficiently receive crushing stock by products in most efficient and economical way for the company.
Procure crushing stock from outside market participants through development and growth of supplier relationships.
Procure crude oil domestically from crush competitors and peanut industry participants generating a crude oil byproduct.
Procure import peanut oil from various origins when necessary to support business plan
Trade crush and refining byproducts to feed customers.
Collaborate with refined peanut oil sales lead to define business plan and peanut oil strategy.
Provides reports to the business group on opportunities, competition, and customer activities.
Prepares & presents reports to management detailing customer issues & opportunities
Develops a clear understanding of local, national, & world markets & trends
Price discovery and bid/offer maintenance to enhance risk management and pricing
Understands and has strict adherence to corporate compliance policies & safety systems & programs
Works closely with oil sales, operations, and customer service to execute our business goals and strategies.
Required Skills and Education:
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of commodity and food products merchandising
Understands risk management, operations, and procurement sides of the business
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or a related field
3-5 years of commodity or food products merchandising experience.
Functions well as part of teams
Strong communication skills required
Excellent problem solving skills and patience
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines and work under pressure
Must be extremely organized and have a strong attention to detail
Skilled with MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, Power Point and Microsoft Outlook
Strong relationship-building abilities
