This position is responsible for new business development in soliciting and originating business loans including but, not limited to multi-family, owner occupied office, equipment and lines of credit in accordance with TruWest's established loan policies and procedures. The candidate will be responsible for building relationships with members, non-members, realtors, commercial mortgage brokers, and other commercial loan sources for the solicitation of profitable loans to meet established goals as set forth by the Credit Union. Also, responsible for building and maintaining a viable business loan sources/credit union relationship resulting in loan growth and recognition of TruWest name and brand in the marketplace. The candidate must possess a conscientious attitude of responsibility and accountability for the position and its relationship to the credit union as a whole. In addition, the position is responsible to monitor loan transactions from origination to closing. The candidate must maintain awareness within the business loan industry and market conditions, and must make recommendations to the VP of MBL and the CLO regarding enhancements and changes to the products as dictated by the market. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently and contribute to the Credit Union's goals and objectives through the production and maintenance of profitable loans in accordance with credit union policies. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the Credit Union's products and services in order to identify cross-selling opportunities, which will benefit the member.

This position is responsible for:
1.Responding to member inquiries regarding TruWest member business loan programs
2.Meeting with members to pre-qualify and counsel member to determine the TruWest

Business loan program(s) that best fits their company needs.
3.Obtaining required documentation necessary for loan processing.
4.Credit performance
5.Ensuring credit union position is protected by proper and timely execution of documents and documentation
6.Conducting Annual Property Inspections along with Annual Reviews on existing accounts

Responsible to ensure credit union position is protected by proper and timely execution of documents and documentation.

Qualifications:

Education: College degree required with sales, marketing, commercial mortgage, finance, real estate, business lending background or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years business lending experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

Must possess a thorough working knowledge in all aspects of the commercial loan industry including sound negotiation skills, structuring, credit analysis, underwriting, documentation, collection, reporting, and the ongoing maintenance, and monitoring of a business loan portfolio for performance and credit loss risk. Knowledge of SBA 504 lending a plus. Good organizational skills are required to ensure credit union quality of service. Must be able to communicate business loan products and services to members, non-members, and business referral sources. Demonstrate experience with business lending origination and documentation software(s), Microsoft Word and Excel. Must maintain a professional image.


Requirements Primary Duties and

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and build referral relationships that generate solid performing business loans for TruWest.

  • Develop relationships with TruWest staff and train them in reference to business lending products to generate business loan referrals.

and any other credit that is assigned by management

  • Responsible for complete, accurate, and regulatory compliant loan packages.

  • Recommend new or changes to business lending policies, product structure and rates/fees to remain competitive in the markets we serve.

  • Ensure complete and accurate application is obtained.

  • Complete loan process from origination through closing and funding of the credit.

  • Communicate corporate approved rates to borrower(s), and follow-through to ensure the loan is captured by TruWest.

  • Maintain weekly call and production reports.

  • Service membership by providing business loan origination services at the credit union

offices, borrower's place of employment, or other reasonable locations as requested by

the member(s).

  • Must be an active participant and ultimately responsible for the Annual Property Inspections and the Annual Reviews.

  • Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Performs complex (journey-level) staff services work for and provides support to departmental leadership and staff. Essential Job Functions: Supports daily departmental operations and activities; responds to administrative issues and recommends effective and efficient solutions to departmental leadership; provides clarity to departmental staff regarding assignments that include reporting, procurement, and similar subject matters; supports timely completion of department assignments and provides updates to staff; monitors departmental expenditures; coordinates appointment and meeting scheduling, acts as primary coordinator for Human Resources and Business Continuity tasks; reviews, approves, and assigns appropriate funding information to travel vouchers, invoices, contracts, and purchase requests, ensuring accuracy and sufficient justification to adhere to purchasing, accounts payable, travel, and contracting guidelines; responds to internal and external inquiries; provides and ensures a high level of confidentiality in all matters.
