This position is directly responsible for the integrity of the loan closing, due diligence, documentation, loan booking and closing files for assigned customers and loans within the Business Banking portfolio. This includes ensuring that the loan structure and terms conform to the credit approval and bank policies, the requirements to close are in place and identify and appropriate mitigate exceptions. This position requires an understanding of policies and procedures as they relate to the commercial lending function.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate closing portfolio of commercial loans while managing sound risk and credit management practices that are consistent with the Bank's Credit Policy.
Serve as project manager to facilitate and drive the closing process for Business Banking loans.
This position works closely with lending personnel and Business Banking Support to ensure compliance with Credit Policy and approved loan terms.
Make recommendations and work with Closing Officers to make decisions that address risks identified and customer relationships for loans in work queue.
Responsible for addressing potential risks and adverse situations that could affect the Bank's interest and make recommendations to department officers as to the appropriate corrective actions.
Evaluate loan documents to ensure that they meet the Bank's standards.
Review loan documents to ensure all required documents are complete and accurate.
Reviews due diligence items such as title commitments, flood determinations, insurance and other pre-closing items, and coordinates the review of such.
Has the authority to release loans for closing based on an independent review of the loan approval, loan documentation including adequate insurance coverage, lien searches and whether or not the loan documents were prepared in accordance with the Bank's policies and procedures.
Ascertain that all necessary documentation has been gathered and completed and all preconditions to closings have been met.
Ensure that the appropriate approval authority has been obtained prior to closing.
Banking is a highly regulated industry and you will be expected to acquire and maintain a proficiency in the bank's policies and procedures, and adhere to all laws, rules and regulations that are applicable to your conduct and the work you will be performing. You will also be expected to complete all assigned compliance training in a timely manner.
Prior experience with LaserPro or similar loan documentation software a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook.
