The Red Hat Legal team is looking for a Commercial Litigation Attorney to join us at our corporate headquarters in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for working with outside counsel and on your own on general litigation and other matters. You'll need to have a combination of varied successful litigation experience, interest in and knowledge of technology, and passion for defending the open source mission.
Primary job responsibilities
Manage and guide strategy for a variety of commercial litigation and related matters, with experience welcome in tort, fraud, real estate, labor, and employment disputes, competition issues, and merger due diligence
Engage, collaborate with, and manage outside counsel in U.S. and other countries
Manage document preservation and internal discovery activities
Advise management and other internal customers regarding minimizing and addressing litigation risks
Be responsible for insurance-related notifications and issues
JD degree from top-tier law school with solid academic credentials
State bar membership
8+ years of experience in litigation; substantial experience in both law firm and in-house environments is a plus
Experience managing attorneys
Trial and appellate experience
Excellent writing and verbal skills
International law experience is a plus
Solid technology interest and aptitude is a plus
