This position is responsible for the Commercial Lines underwriting activities, agency relationship management, product pricing, and applying sound underwriting judgment within assigned territory in line with corporate market direction, profit and production objectives. Serves as technical resource in multi-line underwriting environment, and principal contact for agents, monitors agency performance, and resolves billing and other agents' service requests; participates in the agency review process in support of territorial initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk management, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics or Business preferred; minimum of Associate's degree or combination of secondary education (and/or other related certifications) and comparable, progressive experience.
CPCU designation preferred
Commercial Lines product knowledge and 6+ years relevant experience including including multiple-lines 'underwriting and customer relationship experience in the Property and Casualty insurance industry
Decision-making, analytical, and negotiation skills
Strong knowledge of commercial property, general liability, business auto, worker's compensation and umbrella coverage
Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners
