The Product Commercial Lines Director develops a comprehensive strategy to design products to meet customer needs, improve ease of use for producers, increase premium and improve profitability.
Essential Job Functions:
Monitors the results of existing products and works with Product R&D and the Actuarial division to adjust the design and to modify pricing to meet targets.
Identifies important issues in each state, including competitor actions, regulatory relationships, legislative issues, agency strategy and claims/underwriting processes.
Formulates a coherent strategy for profitable growth that includes strategic or process improvements.
Requires interaction with Marketing, Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance and Claims to achieve corporate objectives.
Works with various other functional groups to implement changes.
Measures the impact of business changes and adjusts the state strategy accordingly.
Responsible for profit/loss and premium growth for all products in a designated region. Long-term objectives include geographic expansion within that region.
Recruits, manages and develops various levels of Product Managers and Analysts.
7+ years of commercial product management experience, including managerial experience.
Commercial multi-peril/property product management experience strongly preferred.
