SUMMARY Markets new business, maintains relationships with financial institutions, manages existing accounts and book. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Responsible for the maintenance and growth of existing commercial lines book, primarily in conjunction with financial institution partnerships.
Manages existing account servicing and renewals with size varying from small to medium commercial and across various carriers and managing general agencies. Includes complex renewal policies and coverage requests. Provides information, rates, and quotes for all new and renewal Commercial lines policies by evaluating, processing, and placing coverage based on the degree of risk indicated on the applications and within the underwriting guidelines provided by various carriers and/or brokers.
Conducts business development in conjunction with internal specialty lines. Responsible for maintaining agency underwriting standards, workflows, and procedures to ensure high quality service and compliance to agency standards. Maintains a current level of insurance technical knowledge, market trends, agency automation, company information, and other operating techniques by attending seminars, webinars, or other training events.
Responsible for existing account forms processes, coverage changes and other service requests. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelors Degree in Business, Management, or related field preferred; or must have equivalent experience. Must have at least three (3) years of years of maintaining, selling and servicing commercial accounts in customer service or underwriting.
Must have strong working knowledge of insurance forms, coverage and rating. Must have strong understanding of commercial E&S and admitted markets. Must have knowledge of agency software and hardware- AMS360 experience strongly preferred.
Must have strong understanding of agency workflow procedures, underwriting, sales, and service processes. Must have ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions with multiple concrete and abstract variables. Must have strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
Must have effective communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to respond to requests effectively and efficiently Must have advanced working knowledge of MS Word and Excel and related Windows programs. Must have a P&C General Lines Insurance License. Must be able to work under sometimes stressful conditions while maintaining professionalism and enthusiasm.
Must be able to sit for long periods of time developing underwriting and other procedures. Must be able to lift or move 10-20 lbs. of files and the like. Must be able to stoop or kneel to file and/or retrieve documents.
