Job Summary

Brown & Brown of New York is looking for an Sales Executive to join our Commercial Lines team! As one of the largest insurance intermediaries in the industry, we need new sales executives to assist us in carrying on an unmatched tradition of success. The primary responsibilities of this role are to sell and renew insurance to businesses in this community and region. Our team environment will provide you with a wealth of resources to help you reach your full potential. New sales are the focus of the position and cross sales of existing clients is also encouraged. As a full service agency, we can bring Personal Insurance, Commercial Insurance and Employee Benefits products to our customers. You will report directly to our Sales Manager.


  • Attain and exceed all sales goals by setting appointments with qualified leads through phone calls, emails, and other methods.

  • Responsible for the development and successful acquisition of new business revenue from new and existing clients

  • Prospect sectors or market areas by identifying needs and proposing company products and services

  • Obtain prospects and pursue and create interest by telephone calls, writing letters, or making personal visits

  • Maintain currency and further develop expertise in declared sector or market area by networking and participating in professional development activities

  • Identify areas for continuous improvement and implement initiatives to increase cost savings or effectiveness

  • Develop strong relationships with prospects and clients

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

  • Current and Valid Property & Casualty License, required.

  • 5+ years of commercial insurance industry experience.

  • 5+ years outside sales experience.


  • Insurance designations (CIC, CPCU)
