Job Description Job Description ZT Systems is hiring for a Building Systems Technician in Secaucus, NJ. ZT Systems is a leading provider of complex compute, storage and accelerator solutions for the word's leading cloud and telecom service providers.
Location: Secaucus, NJ Pay: $35-$40/hr Shift: 1st Shift 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM About the Role The Building Systems Technician will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting building systems that support our 24x7 manufacturing environment. This includes major electrical systems, mechanical/HVAC systems, centralized chiller plants, and generators. Utilizing our Building Management System, the technician will remotely monitor performance, anticipate potential issues, and ensure that scheduled maintenance is completed in a timely manner—whether through self-performance or coordination with maintenance contractors.
This role requires technical expertise in mechanical and electrical building systems, along with project management skills. Relevant experience in an industrial facility setting is highly desirable. Our facilities encompass over one million square feet of manufacturing, warehouses, and test labs across multiple locations in Secaucus, NJ.
This is an on-site position. Key Responsibilities: Monitor critical power monitoring, environmental monitoring, and building management systems to identify issues and minimize operational downtime.
Ensure the uptime and maintenance of HVAC, generators, electrical distribution systems, and chiller plants. Engage proactively with business partners and stakeholders on the Operations Team to resolve building system issues. Respond to employee reports of mechanical or maintenance issues related to critical systems.
Take daily operational readings of mechanical equipment, conduct inspections of buildings/grounds, and address unsafe or malfunctioning conditions. Adhere to and enforce predictive, planned, and preventive maintenance schedules, including vendor oversight during servicing. Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring timely procurement when needed.
Support startup, commissioning, and integration of new equipment and systems. Recommend corrective actions to the Facility Engineering Manager if additional resources are required. Act as a Point of Contact for external vendors and contractors.
Coordinate work that may impact facility performance or equipment downtime. Maintain required certifications for chiller, cooling tower, and generator maintenance.
