Currently seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC tech for a local Salt Lake City, UT commercial HVAC company. This is a great direct-hire opportunity for any experienced service techs interested in a long-term career position with a reputable company.

Primary Responsibilities of the Commercial HVAC Tech:

  • Perform installs, preventive maintenance, service, and troubleshooting for commercial HVAC in the Salt Lake area.
  • Maintain and safe job site and work vehicle.
  • Assist other technicians with problems.
  • Complete parts/material inventories.

Minimum Qualifications for the Commercial HVAC Tech:

  • 2-3 years of experience as an HVAC Tech.
  • Experience inspecting, troubleshooting and making repairs to code on commercial equipment.
  • Must be detail oriented in submitting paperwork and following work orders.
  • Must possess a current Utah Driver's license and have a clean driving record.
  • OSHA-10 certification preferred.
  • Current Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certificate.
  • E.P.A. certified for refrigerant handling class I & II, or universal.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills along with superb customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform calculations necessary for HVAC work.
  • Knowledge of control systems is preferred.
  • Must have own set of quality hand tools.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Five (5) years of experience with HVAC or a similar maintenance, of which four (4) years must have been in service and repair. Graduation from a recognized HVAC training program is preferred. Must possess a Universal EPA refrigerant certification at time of hire. Must possess a Rocky Mountain Gas Association (RMGA) certification within three (3) months of hire. A valid driver's license to operate a vehicle is required at time of hire. Must pass a pre-employment County Jail security clearance, Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) and Drug and Alcohol screening. Must receive a verified negative test result on a mandatory drug test before starting in this position. Will be subject to random alcohol and drug testing. May be subject to post accident and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Troubleshoots, diagnoses, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance on commercial air conditioning and multi-zoned heating and cooling systems that incorporate pneumatic, digital, and central energy management system controls. * Develops heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system modification plans. * Researches and selects materials for HVAC systems installation, repair, and maintenance. * Monitors and inspects HVAC systems and components. * Installs heating and air conditioning equipment and systems. * Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. * Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies, materials, tools, and equipment to accomplish work assignments. * Responds to emergency situations during non-regular work hours.
