The Commercial Fuel System Controls Technician position is a multi-disciplined position that includes some of following duties:

  • Review wiring diagrams & construction blueprints in order to perform full scope of controls work in the field
  • Plan the layout of control conduit and wiring and perform installation of both (must have experience/proficiency with Rigid, EMT and PVC conduit and corresponding supports/hangers)
  • Install control wiring between various pieces of equipment to include fuel and water pumps/motors, motorized ball valves, solenoid valves, PLCs, fuel polishers, fuel oil day tanks, fuel dispensers, ATG systems, and other related equipment
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair or replace failing equipment on previous & current installations
  • Utilize laptop computer to program PLCs and other tank monitoring systems
  • Fuel & Water Storage Tank Installation Technician
  • Installation & Commissioning of probes, sensors and other accessories on storage tanks, sumps, etc

Requirements:
The Company is seeking both experienced people in our field, as well as, people who demonstrate other skills in line with the duties listed above in this advertisement.

  • Prior experience with BOTH generator/boiler and fuel dispensing systems is ideal

  • Ability to pass security background checks to gain access to government facilities
  • Valid drivers license with good driving record
  • Successful drug screening and criminal background check

Job Summary: The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab (APL) is seeking a Navigation, Guidance, and Controls (NG&C) Flight Analyst. Responsibilities include the following: Provide an independent assessment of flight system performance for government sponsors by analyzing measurement data from navigation sensors including inertial measurement units (IMU), Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers, and other sensor systems (e.g. RADAR). Develop an understanding of the methodologies and develop/maintain software needed to assess the accuracy and performance for current and future weapon systems. Implement new methods of accuracy evaluation for future missiles and reentry bodies. Show interest, enthusiasm, and willingness to work on different challenges and opportunities. Duties: * Evaluate post-flight missile and reentry vehicle test data, and using data fusion algorithms (e.g. Kalman Filter) along with high fidelity models determine overall flight navigation accuracy and identify sources of inaccuracy. As an independent assessment, document and report flight test performance to the sponsor. * Develop an understanding of the accuracy and performance of flight navigation systems for missiles and reentry vehicles using models, simulations, telemetry data from onboard systems and instrumentation, and off board metric measurements; in particular, inertial navigation systems, GPS measurements, RADAR, and other sensors. Evaluate the suitability of navigation systems to meet system requirements. * Implement new algorithms and write software required for processing data from IMUs, GPS receivers, RADARS, and potentially other measurement systems. * Present flight analysis and navigation accuracy findings to a broad internal audience as well as the sponsor and external organizations at working groups, post-flight briefings, and program reviews. * As an independent evaluator of NG&C system performance, act as an interface with the sponsor and external organizations to understand accuracy requirements for various programs and how various NG&C systems meet those requirements. (or above) in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related field with background in controls. * Relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: inertial navigation, GPS navigation, vehicle trajectory modeling/simulation, and estimation theory (e.g. Kalman Filtering). * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Strong background in computer programming, with a proficiency in Matlab and C . * Ability to work and contribute in a team environment. * Motivation and initiative in accomplishing tasking requirements and working on new projects. Desired Qualifications: * M.S. or above in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related field. * 5 years of experience in flight systems inertial navigation and accuracy analysis. * Experience in object oriented, parallel or GUI programming. * Proficiency with simulation and modeling tools such as the Systems Tool Kit (STK). Special Working Conditions: Some travel (potentially 2-3 trips per year of duration one week or less). Security: Secret Clearanceis required.
