Partner with the senior management team to grow the overall business profitability. Ensure the integrity of the overall financial reporting and processes.
Manage clear and insightful performance and drive performance management across all aspects of the business in partnership with the business president. Ensure that forecasting (revenue, margin, and profit) for the business is accurate and accurately reflects market dynamics by incorporating sales/raw material and cost forecasting spanning across all the various manufacturing sites. Provide leadership and collaborate with executive management on commercial finance strategy setting, such as pricing target margins and margin progression by segment, profit improvement programs, and price increase and risk management and mitigation strategies.
Coordinate the preparation of various reports (monthly, yearly, and strategic) for the business to include but not limited to: reporting of business wins/losses to understand changing business dynamics; reporting and challenging the business pipeline to ensure alignment with business strategy; and development of business intelligence reporting in the area of customers, competitors, and suppliers. Own commodity risk management and procurement management to define the risk strategies for key raw materials to support commercial decision making. Drive a continuous improvement mind-set across all finance processes to realize efficiencies.
Ensure robust financial controls are deployed consistently across the business and financial risks are appropriately managed and mitigated. Foster continuous development, set context, and coach and mentor team members.
This position requires up to 50% (domestic and international) travel.
The position of Commercial Finance Director requires Bachelor's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field and ten (10) years of progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate related experience; or a Master's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field and 8 years of related experience.
Additionally, the applicant must have experience with: 1. Accountancy qualification (CPA, AIA, or similar domestic or foreign equivalent); 2.
Mapics with particular focus on BOM costing for Pharmaceutical products; 3. SalesForce.com, specifically in relation to pipeline management of businesses with lengthy sales cycles in comparison to FMCG; 4. Pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing process (Excipient and Cell Media); and 5. Supervisory project management within Pharmaceutical and nutritional supplement markets.
