Primary Job Function: Our HVAC Estimator is responsible for estimating and selling jobs that include forced air furnace replacement, add-on or replace air conditioning units, humidifiers, and other HVAC systems. Including estimating of repairs and maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment in a retail and commercial rooftop setting including the estimating of labor and materials. Position will work with manufacturers and suppliers on parts information, ordering and tracking. Position interacts with the home office, facility managers and property managers that represent our customer base, as well as our field service technicians. Position will be responsible for negotiating the best possible pricing and will oversee HVAC projects. Provide technical support and quoting assistance to in-house technicians.

Work Hours: This is a full time, hourly position. Normal business hours are Monday

• Friday, 8a

• 5p. There may be occasional overtime.

Required Qualifications:

• Must pass drug and background screens

• Valid driver's license and insurable through company insurance carrier

• 2+ years' experience of successfully preparing estimates and proposals for commercial HVAC/R projects using computer software

• Thorough understanding of related trades for the purposes of coordinating various project estimates and company resources

• Must be able to prioritize and manage time efficiently to meet submission deadlines

• Must display a high level of integrity and professionalism

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

• Strong Sales aptitude required. Previous sales experience preferred.

• Ability to handle a fast-paced workload under deadlines

• Able to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing

• Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook

• Highly organized and detail oriented

• Must be able to work independently

Desired Qualifications:

• Prepare cost estimates for HVAC/R systems to include duct work, and piping systems, and equipment for commercial and HVAC/R projects (i.e., repairs, maintenance, installations, retrofits, and equipment replacements).

• Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors

• Review service documentation to determine scope of work and identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Order equipment and parts for approved installations

• Account for labor, material, equipment, subcontractors, and other direct costs within estimates.

• Clear and concise inter-departmental communication to ensure all estimating agendas and timelines are met

• Collaborate with management and teams for the purpose of planning and scheduling work in a cost-effective and efficient manner

• Visit ongoing job sites as requested and maintain responsibility for jobs as they progress until final billing is sent

• Prepare, send and follow up on quotes based on accurate sizing, duct work, efficiency ratings and budget.

• Apply for all applicable permits required for installations

• Interact with installation teams to ensure projects are performed according to specifications

• Maintain customer relationships

Work Environmental

This job operates in a temperature-controlled office environment using standard office equipment. While out in the field, the Commercial Estimator may be exposed to weather conditions and be exposed to dusty and confining areas of buildings. Noise levels in the work environment are usually minimal.
