Primary Purpose
To coordinate programs and services for ESC Region 11 districts and Charters including transportation, school health, and safety.

Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED + 2 Years Secondary Education
TEEX School Bus Driver Instructor Certification (or equivalent)
Class B CDL with P/S Endorsements
Current TX DPS School Bus Safety Certification
(Instructor Certification Preferred)
TX Association of Pupil Transportation Membership (Active)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Team oriented attitude and desire to work collaboratively with ESC staff
campus/district/charter school personnel
Knowledge of databases, spreadsheets & word processing
Ability to use personal computer and software for data collection
Proficiency in keyboarding, spelling and punctuation
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid
conclusions
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Knowledge of FMCSA and TX DPS rules and regulations regarding
public transportation
Knowledge of TEA requirements for Public School Transportation
Knowledge of and familiarity with the Texas Education Code
Thorough documentation skills required
Strong project management skills
Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years successful experience in school transportation
A Minimum of 3 Years Commercial Driver Training Experience
A Minimum of 2 Years of ELDT Experience
Successful experience in developing, organizing, and maintaining Excel
Spreadsheets and Power Point Slides
Successful experience in training teachers and/or other adults
Experience in a supervisory position preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Actively participate in and/or provide leadership for inter-departmental teams to help improve student performance in the region, to improve the ESC internal operations. And to meet the established goals and objectives for the ESC
Analyze available needs assessment data from regional, state and national sources
Participate in the collaborative development of a comprehensive plan for trainings, products and services to meet regional needs
Model effective uses of technology in personal productivity and instructional applications
Provide technical assistance to campuses/districts/charter schools as needed, as well as appropriate follow-up and follow-along to trainings, products and services
Assist with registration and setup for internal workshops
Deliver/facilitate training sessions as needed with team members in the areas of compliance, school health and school safety.
Participate in designated local, state, and national professional development activities and share information with ESC staff and appropriate regional personnel
Effectively market, coordinate, and deliver transportation related services.
Identify, plan, develop and implement new initiatives/services for School Transportation Services
Coordinate and assist with all aspects of the school bus driver certification program
Maintain status as an approved Entry Level Training Provider
Maintain Compliance with State and Federal regulations concerning commercial driver training, licensing, and certification.
Demonstrate effective facilitation/training/communication skills
Respond to all communication in a timely manner
Conduct on-going evaluations of process of programs and services
Build, maintain and monitor accurate records including budgets
Process external billing forms for services provided
Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Duties
None.
Equipment / Specialized Software Used
Computers, projection devices, control panels in meeting rooms, printers, productivity software, software specific to the job assignment, network resources, Internet resources, and other hardware and software necessary to effectively and efficiently perform the functions of the job.
Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors) Mental: Public relations and people skills are required at all times, work with frequent interruptions, and maintain professional composure under stress.
Physical: Occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Ability to move tables and chairs and load and unload boxes/materials/traffic cones. Prolonged use of computer. Frequent daily and region-wide travel. (Requires employee to provide reliable transportation and proof of insurance; mileage and expenses reimbursed in accordance with ESC Region 11 policies).
Environmental: Open cubicles/work stations/outdoors.
Evaluation
Annual performance evaluation will be performed in accordance with adopted policies of the Education Service Center Region 11. Employment in this position is contingent on performance, need and funding.
