Commercial Door Technician

Job Category: Full-Time/ Direct Hire

Compensation: $23- $30 per hour

BBSI has partnered with a well-established Commercial Door and Gate contractor that has been serving the community of South Gate and its surrounding regions for the past 20 years. As we undergo continuous expansion, we are in search of a skilled Field Service Technician and Helper to join our amazing team!

Duties:

• You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial garage doors and related systems

• This role requires a blend of technical expertise, customer service skills, and the ability to work independently

• You will also assist the General Manager in achieving financial targets, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining operational efficiency

• Install, repair, and upkeep commercial doors, gates, operators, rolling steel doors, access control systems and related systems

• Perform routine inspections to verify the optimal functionality of commercial garage door systems

• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with garage door systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions

• Communicate efficiently with customers and team members to ensure satisfaction and on-time project completion

• Attend and actively participate in mandatory safety meetings and training sessions

• Maintain a suitable level of product knowledge for the offered product range

• Ensure all scheduled work is completed to customer satisfaction and promptly address any issues or concerns

• Prepare the truck for operation by ensuring it is fueled, serviced, and ready at the beginning of each workday

• Daily restocking of the truck with appropriate service materials

• Assist in loading and unloading trucks when required

• Conduct safety checks and adhere to safety protocols to sustain a secure working environment

• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks

• Complete service reports and communicate job details to internal staff

• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure seamless communication and customer satisfaction

• Provide technical input during project planning and estimation

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of door installer /repair experience, preferably in overhead garage door installation and repair

• Strong knowledge of commercial garage door systems and equipment

• Strong mechanical and technical skills and ability to work with power tools

• Experience in welding, torching, fabrication, electrical troubleshooting, and low-voltage wiring

• Excellent Customer Service skills

• Honesty and dependability -willingness and ability to show up for work every day!

• Must possess a current valid driver's license and clean driving record

• Must be able to pass a standard drug test and background

• Must have a neat appearance

• Physical efforts usually involve lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of weight (up to 100 pounds.)

• High school diploma or GED
