Work together with sales professionals to target and seize sales opportunities. Provide training to both Merit employees as well as physicians & clinicians. Maintain close relationships with sales leadership to ensure needs are being met and support is actively being provided.

This position will be responsible for the sales relationship in the Southeast Region. Will cover states in Southeast area of US. Not required to live in Atlanta area, but must live in the Southeast states and close to a major airport.


  • Achieves or exceeds sales targets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

  • Establishes and maintains close relationships with new clients and existing accounts by identifying potential customers and introducing them to the products offered by Merit.

  • Maintains contact with clients to monitor their satisfaction with products in partnership with sales representatives.

  • Identifies opportunities to improve customer satisfaction with products.

  • Follows up with clients to identify opportunities to increase sales volume and profitability in partnership with sales representatives.

  • Resolves problems with clients regarding manufacturing or delivery problems, if they occur.

  • Coordinates with other Merit marketing and sales staff to ensure that the right products are shipped to customers on a timely basis and in the amount required, to stay informed about new products provided by Merit, and to provide feedback from customers about product needs and possible innovations.

  • Makes decisions within approved authorization limits regarding product pricing to optimize sales volume and profitability.

  • Prepares a monthly report summarizing monthly sales results achieved, contacts made, needs for change in products and suggestions for improvement in Merit's procedures.

  • Participates in a variety of sales training and planning meetings to learn about new products and marketing promotions, and to share information about sales goals.

  • Maintains a high level of knowledge about Merit and competitor products and their advantages and disadvantages.

  • Sets and achieves personal performance goals for sales volume, new contacts made, new client sales and other related sales results achieved.

  • Travels by car, airplane, bus, etc. to perform sales duties with clients.

  • Provides clinical training for various groups such as Sales Representatives, Merit employees, Cath lab and Radiology staff, and physicians and answer questions when they arise.

  • Works with the Merit sales representatives and customers to do evaluations and consultations.

  • Follows up on previous product evaluations and conversions or complaints that require additional support.

  • Serve as a liaison between the lab/customers and sales representatives where needed.

  • May conduct assessment testing to ascertain the skill level and ability of those individuals being trained, and develop training curriculums and programs to improve knowledge, skill, and ability.

  • Conducts ongoing staff training and provide clinical feedback to resolve customer related issues.

  • Works in the field to support and train clinicians on the use of Merit products and to troubleshoot product-related issues in the field.

  • Assists with the roll out of new products, including educating the sales representatives on the features and benefits.

  • Provides information on new technologies, procedures and changes in the medical device industry.

  • Develops programs for labs to obtain CEU credits, in conjunction with an independent outside accredit firm.

  • Provides presentations at regional and national meetings regarding new products and procedures.

  • Performs a variety of other sales related duties, as required.

  • Education and/or experience equivalent to a related Bachelor's Degree.

  • A minimum of three years of direct sales experience.

  • Two years of hands-on medical imaging experience (i.e. ultrasound).

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to analyze feedback in a training environment to develop strategies to improve knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • A thorough understanding of training and development techniques.

  • Good analytical skills and the ability to understand complex issues.

  • Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs

  • A high degree of personal motivation and drive to achieve personal and professional goals.

  • Excellent oral presentation skills and the ability to think quickly to apply facts in analyzing a problem and explaining that answer to a group of medical technicians and clinicians.

  • Ability to learn the usage of medical equipment and to identify and explain possible improvements in usage.

  • Ability to work effectively as a team member to achieve organization goals.

  • A high degree of personal organization skills, including the ability to record and report information and to document work performed.

  • Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision.

  • Ability to travel extensively and work long hours to achieve goals, as required.

  • Excellent driving record with no driving accidents in the past three years or no more than one driving ticket in the last three years.

  • Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.


  • Medical device sales experience strongly preferred.

  • Capital equipment sales experience strongly preferred.

  • Education and clinical experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse or Certified Cardiovascular or Radiology Technician.

  • Medical product sales and sales training experience.

Job Description The Director, Asset Management is generally responsible for maximizing value of the portfolio through executing property-level strategies and is responsible for property-level performance with accountability for property management, leasing, development, tenant relations and staffing. The successful candidate will be responsible for portfolios within Manulife/John Hancock's U.S. Real Estate holdings, which may include both third-party and general account assets, and has a strong background and experience in commercial real estate with an emphasis on office and industrial properties.
