Job Description

We are seeking a Commercial Construction Superintendent to join our team! You will oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.

Projects focus on Class A multi-level self-storage facilities with project values ranging from $6M - $15M.

Superintendent will report directly to
Project Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of construction project from planning to implementation
  • Allocate resources for assigned projects
  • Supervise onsite personnel and subcontractors
  • Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients
  • Negotiate with contractors to receive reasonable order costs
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications

Qualifications:

  • Must be computer literate
  • Previous experience in construction management
  • Familiarity with construction management software to include Procore & SAGE 300
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Deadline and detail-oriented

VIEW JOBS 10/2/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-12-31T00:00 Job Description Commercial Construction Intern A Construction Intern (CI) participates in a hands-on internship experience in the "Cornerstone Phase" within the HITT Futures Program. CIs are placed with Futures program mentors for the duration of their seasonal work at HITT, participating in day-to-day operations of the project management team. This training and employment period will be used as an opportunity for the candidate familiarize themselves with the different facets of construction while learning the way HITT conducts business relative to our industry. Further, this period should also be used by the candidate to become familiar with HITT's history and corporate culture. It is the intent that at the end of the Intern period that each successful candidate would be offered an opportunity to continue in our HITT Futures Leadership Program. Responsibilities * Support the project management team with subcontractor and supplier coordination, material tracking, file management, document control (submittals, RFIs and change orders) and progress reporting. Assist the preparation of bid packages and work with team members to solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids * Support both administrative and construction projects/procedures, reviewing proposals/specifications, drawings, execute material takeoffs, prepare cost estimates and attend preconstruction meetings and client walk-throughs * Collaborate with site operations and workforce to assist with project layout, construction drawing and trade coordination, verification of site conditions, safety and quality control Qualifications * Current student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited university within the construction, engineering, or business concentrations strongly preferred * Previous industry internship/work experiences a plus * Ability to work approximately 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week construction internship program (no overtime available) * Ability to successfully manage multiple, competing priorities in a deadline driven environment * Ability to learn sector/project-specific software systems including but not limited to: Microsoft Office suite (ex.
