This position is a full time exempt position. The Commercial Construction Superintendent is primarily responsible for managing the field functions of commercial construction jobs ranging from $5,000,000.00 plus. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Commercial Construction Superintendent duties will include, but are not limited to: Managing of the field aspects of deadlines, progress, and quality on large commercial projects Existing industry relationships with architects, engineers and subcontractors OSHA 30 certification and management of safety requirements for projects Excellent skills reading and coordinating construction drawings Managing subcontractors on site to ensure project quality and deadlines are met Assisting with estimating for commercial projects Controlling access to site by vendors, subcontractors and any other visitors SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has supervisory responsibilities.

The commercial field superintendent will supervise subcontractors. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Associates degree (A.A or A.S) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; 2 to 3 years of industry related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Construction/Restoration Industry experience preferred Basic math skills (equivalent to those needed at a GED level) Regularly required to climb roofs, crawl into confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces, which includes being able to carry a 28' ladder from their truck and setting it up at the roof line of the associated property Excellent customer service and communication skills using English language Great attitude, trustworthy, dependable, and a pleasant personality Able to pass a background check, driving record check, and regular employee drug screenings EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE : Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management is preferred along with ten (10) years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS : Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as construction drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Demonstrate the ability to write routine reports, correspondence and the ability to speak effectively to high-level clients, customers and/or employees of Jenkins and other companies.

COMPUTER SKILLS : This individual should be proficient in critical path schedules utilizing Microsoft Project, and be familiar with software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) Knowledge of BIM and SAGE is a plus. CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE: Prior experience in field managing commercial construction projects including mixed use, multi-family, etc. is required.
