Commercial Construction Project Manager

Job Description - Commercial Construction Project Manager Classification Salary Reports to Partners Summary / Objective The Project Manager position is responsible for management of all aspects of projects, from estimating through project completion, and for carrying out Sr. Management's direction regarding construction activities and related duties.

Essential Functions Responsible for implementing all job safety requirements Estimating Submittals Overall project management Responsible for overseeing and conducting proper and thorough accident investigations and overseeing preparation and submittal of all required accident reports Develop a thorough understanding of contracts Maintain contract compliance related to, but not limited to the following aspects Safety compliance Wage compliance Schedule compliance Material compliance to include planning, scheduling, and inventories Maintain a constant drive to achieve desired production outputs and be able to set and execute crew goals based on project specifics targets Consumable compliance PPE Compliance Communicate effectively with subordinates and subcontractors Ensure crews are properly aligned to maintain optimal efficiency and cost effectiveness Responsible to assure materials and equipment are available and in place Listen to employees, complaints, problems, safety concerns and recommendations - evaluate each and then devise and implement a plan of action based upon consultation with management and HR, if required Responsible to prepare "look ahead" schedules consistent with the project schedule Be visible on site and visit with site contacts Inspect crews work for compliance with industry safety and quality standards Ensure that correct procedures are in place and followed and be able to point out any deficiencies and take corrective action as needed Any other duties as assigned by management Supervisory Responsibilities General management of all resources Work Environment The work environment characteristics described represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Sitting, standing, and walking Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus Qualifications Five (5) to Ten (10) years of previous commercial project management Knowledge of civil construction and underground utilities Knowledge of all major types of commercial construction with an emphasis on metal building construction and metal building interior buildouts Ability to pass Hair Follicle Testing / Drug Screen Acceptable Background Ability to work overtime Successful complete Site Safety Training when required Maintain a qualified driving record Employee must be proficient with a computer utilizing but not limited to Excel, Word, PDF, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Projects, are preferred.
