The IFI-RM will assist the IFI Director and the Senior RM in maintaining and developing relationships with non-bank financial institutions and banks covered by SBNA's Commercial Banking team. The RM is primarily responsible for finding and developing new business opportunities with US insurance companies, broker/dealers and asset managers to sell the Bank's products and services in order to meet budgeted revenue targets.
In addition, the IFI-RM will interface with other Commercial Banking as well as Global Corporate & Investment Banking business units to help develop and maintain SBNA's international correspondent banking relationships including Santander affiliates; managing counterparty exposure requirements; coordinating the underwriting with IFIs Credit; assist in the allocation of limits to various business units/products and work closely with business partners Risk, Credit, Compliance and Internal Audit to maintain IFI client portfolio up to Bank standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Serves as primary contact with assigned prospective and current customers.
Identifies business needs and sales opportunities.
Assists in obtaining financial information and maintaining credit files.
Assists in pitchbook generation.
Manages existing portfolio and stays informed on developing market trends which may impact credit quality.
Participates in analysis of pertinent financial information and prepares periodic reports on existing portfolio.
Collaborates in write up of Credit Requests, variances and other correspondence related to the relationship.
Works with loan administration in the review and negotiation of loan documents.

Broad understanding of Trade Finance, Transactional Services and Capital Markets products.
Experience in underwriting both Financial Institutions and Corporate banking credits: knowledge of complex credit transactions along with a good knowledge of the state and federal regulations that impact the financial services segments.
Proven business development experience: Candidate must be client-focused, be able to anticipate and be responsive to client needs. Excellent client calling skills and ability to close transactions
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation skills; proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Spanish language is a plus.
Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization in order to obtain cooperation and to foster a business environment.
