Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries (MMBSI) is a Commercial Banking business located in 125 offices across the US and Canada. MMBSI provides credit, cash management, capital markets and corporate finance advisory solutions to corporations, municipalities and not-for-profit entities via our Core Banking or Specialized Industries teams. Banking teams generally focus on clients with annual revenues of $20 million to $500 million. Within our Specialized Industries practice, we have experts strategically focused on serving businesses within a variety of industry segments, including, but not limited to: Agribusiness, Government, Healthcare and Technology.
The MMBSI Financial Analysis team, in partnership with business managers, strategy and other finance teams, leads the business and financial analytics for MMBSI and each of its segments and industries. In addition, the team provides analyses that lead to public disclosure associated with the business' strategy, financial performance, and industry trends for the Firm's presentations at Investor Day and industry conferences.
The Vice President will be an integral member of MMBSI Financial Analysis team. The individual will be responsible for running business and financial analytics and reporting for senior members of the MMBSI business unit. This role is expected to create, maintain and review financial models and analyses (both recurring and ad-hoc) and conduct "deep dive" analyses on key issues impacting client to determine root cause and propose solutions.
Responsibilities for this role will include:
Drive the analysis of business and financial performance, incorporating the competitive landscape and industry trends for MMBSI
Create, maintain and review financial models and analyses (both recurring and ad-hoc)
Conduct "deep dive" analyses on key issues impacting clients/business to determine root cause and propose solutions
Development, consolidation and presentation of insightful and robust qualitative and quantitative financial analysis for key internal clients including senior management; participate and support ad-hoc special projects and requests as needed
Partner with Business Management and Analytics and Reporting teams to develop insightful reporting, focusing on drivers, and the "so what, now what?" dialogue
Collaborate with business partners across MMBSI and the organization to ensure the timely, accurate and effective delivery of recurring and ad-hoc initiatives
The VP will also have exposure to senior management and the opportunity to drive value-added change by helping to simplify processes, accelerate automation, and enhance analytics and business support
Lead and manage a team
BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Accounting and corporate finance with at least 6-7 years of relevant experience, preferably in financial services
Understands a Bank's balance sheet and P&L
Experience in corporate financial analytics / understanding of key drivers
Exceptional analytical, problem solving and project management skills with a proven track record of execution against deliverables; strategic thinker
Excellent oral & written communication and relationship management skills
Strong technical and analytical skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Prior Essbase experience preferred
Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data, summarize key concepts and articulate appropriately
Sound judgment, professional maturity, personal integrity, and strong work ethic
Proactive and results-oriented, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
