As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the team of Credit Support Specialists that provide dedicated Pre- Underwriting support. This is a new team that is responsible for gathering and submitting to the Underwriter information necessary to reach a credit decision. The individual in this position will help build the team, ensure it is functioning as planned and work with senior leaders to optimize the process. Expanding the team beyond its initial scope and offshoring a portion of the team will also be a key responsibility of this manager.
Ensure that the team is operating at maximum effectiveness, submitting all required information accurately and timely and preventing workflow issues before they occur.
Establish metrics and key performance indicators to measure the success of the team and to ensure that the needs of the business are met. Hire and retain talent to support expansion of team.
Strong ability to work and collaborate with offshore support. Review progress of work performed offshore to balance incoming work.
Proactively review and allocate new deal requests. Monitor status of requests to ensure timely receipt of information.
Work closely with the Manager, Underwriting Center Managers, bankers and Market Managers to foster partnership amongst the teams.
Actively monitor WebCLASS exception reports. Monitor and follow up for past due items. Compile and provide updates to the Manager, Credit Risk Director and Underwriting managers twice a month.
Actively participate in the workflow tool project enhancements and evaluate the impact upon processes, systems and procedures.
Effectively implement workflow tool changes and policy or procedural changes through communication with Credit Support Specialists and impacted partners.
Provide a collaborative and productive environment for all Credit Support Specialists.
Escalate issues, resolutions, best practices to Manager.
Lead regular meetings to update staff on changes to processes, systems, procedures, solve issues, share best practices.
Work closely with WLS partners to ensure all transactions are handled properly.
Proactively handle iSurvey results.
College degree or equivalent experience.
Strong operational and procedural management experience.
Minimum of 8 years professional experience in commercial loan operations or a credit/lending environment.
Sound knowledge of commercial credit products and credit systems.
Exceptional verbal, written and organizational skills.
Ability to work calmly under pressure and in a fast paced environment.
Detail oriented with ability to multi task and work in a team based environment.
A history of independent problem solving work.
Ability to collaborate with peers and senior management.
