Job Summary

Summary

You will be responsible for trouble shooting and forensic analysis of issues on the Comcast IP network. This position will execute all required processes associated with server deployments, data processing, analysis and application support. All requirements support Comcast's commitment to its CDV, HSI and Video (Triple Play) business model for business and residential subscribers. This position supports the deployment and continuity of critical business systems. In addition, you will support and monitor deployed systems to identify and mitigate potential failures with applications, systems and other network elements.

Core Responsibilities

  • Minimum of two years of policy or security engineering experience with a demonstrated ability to implement network designs, server deployment, and security concepts and strategies.

  • Familiarity with Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) a plus.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Linux and Windows scripting, process automation (administration), C+ and Apache / PHP development and secure configuration.

  • Industry certifications a plus (CCNA, CSSIP, CCNP).

  • Knowledge of forensic evidence handling, system auditing, post-mortem analysis and root cause analysis reporting.

  • Application level experience with configuration, implementation, and maintenance of Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls. Extensive experience in packet capturing and interpretation.

  • Knowledge of computer operating systems, hardware and software.

  • Basic knowledge of VoIP technology including PSTN, call routing, Cisco, IMS , and Broadsoft voice platforms. This includes call data channels and call content channels.

  • Ability to observe, process, document, and discuss information and media relating to Legal Response Center operations that may be offensive in nature.

  • Working knowledge of CMTS, Virtual CMTS and port mirroring. Experience operating in a TCP / IP traffic flow environment with in-depth knowledge in CIDR, TCP, UDP, ICMP, TFTP, DHCP, NAT/PAT, DNS, SSH, and SMTP.

  • Experience with virtualization, specifically VM Ware preferred.

  • Experience with all services for DOCSIS provisioning suite (dhcp, tftp, dns, time of day).

  • Drives issues through closure engaging all appropriate resources. Leads technical bridges and provides troubleshooting direction. Provides guidance and recommended solutions to complex technical issues.

  • Performs assessments of new products or product enhancements with recommendations for tool development for use in the Legal Response Center for subscriber account identification.

  • Acts as an advocate for Engineering Operations procedures, policies, and processes. Ensures projects are fully integrated into the operations environment including lifecycle problem management from front line CARE through Engineering.

  • Serves as team lead on multiple projects, often spanning different engineering disciplines within the organization and may direct workflow acting as a technical lead.

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance and confidentiality.

  • Limited travel may be required.

2-3 weeks of in office training in South NJ is required.
