Combo Welder

Protect Controls is a leading manufacturer of power control buildings in Conroe, Texas. We are currently looking for Base Welders in our Base department for our day and night shifts.

Base welders are an essential part to our manufacturing process. They are responsible for ensuring all our buildings meet customer specifications and are help up to PCI quality standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up components for welding per work instructions.

• Perform 8-18" single pass, non-stop 3G welds and $G.

• Cut/fit beams and channels.

• Read blueprints

• Assist in basic housekeeping

• Perform grinding as required

• Ensure all welds are in line with customer specs

• Recognize and report hazards/ Apply safe work methods

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Qualified candidates will be proficient in MIG and Flux Core welding methods.

• High School diploma or GED

• 2 years of related experience is preferred

• Able to pass welding test

• Ability to stand for long hours

• Available to work regular scheduled hours and additional as needed

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations

• Must be able to read and interpret written and/or oral instructions

• Must be able to safely move and relocate heavy objects

• Must be able to work at heights exceeding 6'
