Job Description:
The CHS Bus Coordinator is directly responsible for leading a team of drivers in order to transport students safely and efficiently.
Supervise and coordinate a team of drivers including scheduling and time sheet submittals.
Establish efficient routes and transportation schedules utilizing bus routing technology.
Maintain records to ensure all drivers are current with required CDL endorsements and licensing required by the State of Florida.
Responsible for maintaining fleet of buses.
Address all issues and or concerns with drivers in regard to maintenance and safety of vehicles on a daily basis.
Ensure that the entire team of drivers maintain pre-trip inspections and follow through on documented inspection reports.
Scheduling of all required bus inspections required by Okaloosa County School district department of Transportation.
Compile and maintain student contact information for the bus drivers each year or as needed.
Arrange substitute drivers when necessary and self-perform as needed.
Ensure buses are properly maintained on a daily and annual basis as required by the Department of Transportation, Okaloosa County School district.
Resolve incidents with drivers (missed stops, discipline issues, etc.)
Conduct emergency evacuation drills twice each year; submit the paperwork to OCSD
Serve as point of contact for parents with bus issues.
Serve as a point of contact between the bus drivers and the OCSD Transportation department.
Serve as a liaison between the bus drivers and Human Resources for drug screenings and NWFSC compliance training.
Refer any student discipline issue to the assistant principals and serve as point of contact for parents in order to resolve issues as they may arise.
Responsible for parts and service of buses.
Evaluate and recommend replacement and repairs of buses as needed.
Assist in the Collegiate High School office with clerical duties, answering the phone, filing, and other office duties as requested.
Completes other duties as assigned.
Complete annual mandatory training.

Requirements:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of high school equivalency and passenger or heavy equipment fleet management experience of an Associate degree.
Experience in route planning and transportation management software operations.
Hold a valid CDL license with a school bus and passenger endorsement.
Possess a valid State Drive License.
Employment is contingent on passing a physical.
A pre-employment drug screening will be required for this position.
