Wentworth Institute of Technology is seeking applicants interested in joining the Wentworth community as a College Success Coordinator in the Center for Community and Learning Partnerships (CLP), within the Division of Diversity Equity and Inclusion. Wentworth, known as a university of opportunity, was originally founded to offer a technical education to Boston youth. The CLP advances this mission through its Boston Pipeline initiative, which ensures that Boston youth have access to higher education and achieve college and career success. Our Early College program is a key part of this initiative, which enrolls over 200 high school students in courses in computer science, engineering, math, applied sciences, and management.
As a student-focused and driven position, the College Success Coordinator is responsible for supporting Boston youth involved in Wentworth's Early College programming through the center for Community and Learning Partnerships (CLP). This position will collaborate with staff to develop, maintain, and execute a robust and thoughtful student support system for Boston youth. The Coordinator will focus on supporting CLP's College Access and Success Team to execute the institute's Boston Pipeline initiative. The position will also be responsible for working with CLP's leadership to develop innovative ways to connect with and recruit Boston youth to Wentworth with a special focus on our surrounding communities of Mission Hill, Fenway, and Roxbury. The position will assist the Director of College Access and Success in documenting, evaluating, and assessing Early College programs, partnerships, and participants. Additionally, the Coordinator will collaborate with the team to maintain established partnerships and to engage and support Boston and Greater Boston residents who matriculate into Wentworth. This position will work with the existing College Success Coordinator to be the Institute's face for all Boston and Greater Boston youth.
The College Success Coordinator reports to the Director of College Access and Success in the CLP.
This is a full-time position with the option for a hybrid work schedule depending on workflow.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
1-3 years' experience in education, youth services, or community-based organizations. Part-time work and internships can count towards experience
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with and supporting high school and/or college students from urban and culturally diverse environments
Experience with college admissions process & financial aid
Crisis management/support experience
Experience developing and delivering programming
Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
