What happens after I join?

The Paycor Talent Acquisition Team will know you're interested in positions before they've even been posted! Our recruiters can reach out to you directly when an internship/co-op or full-time position comes up that you are a fit for and lines up with your timeline. We may also reach out to you from time-to-time with exciting Paycor news or announcements.

What types of internships/co-ops do you have for students?

It changes all the time! We believe these experiences should be transformative and valuable for all involved so we only hire interns/co-ops when we have a challenging project for them to take on and when a manager can mentor and guide them.

That means we don't always have an opportunity available, but when we do, we will look at students in our Talent Community and post the position on our Careers site. To learn what it's like to be an intern or new professional at Paycor, see the Students section of our website.

What do you look for when you hire college students?

That depends on the type of position, but typically, regardless of the role, we look for:

  • Students currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's or Master's degree program

  • Strong academic performance as evidenced by a solid GPA

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Ability to balance many priorities and manage time effectively

  • Strong work ethic demonstrated through part-time jobs, internships, and/or involvement in extracurricular activities

  • Innovative thinkers and passionate doers

What's the interview process like?

Usually, it looks something like this:

  • Phone Interview with our Campus Recruiting Program Manager

  • In-Person Interview with a panel of managers

  • Offer

VIEW JOBS 1/21/2021 12:00:00 AM 2021-04-21T00:00 SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Coordination of patients and visitors within a unit to ensure operations run efficiently. Positions in this subfunction may monitor or maintain patient or visitor information or bring patients to and from the unit. SCOPE: To provide daily operational/administrative support for the unit and outpatient services. Functions as a resource for clinical personnel regarding unit and outpatient operational issues. Anticipate needs for department and provides coordination of information systems; environmental; admitting and clerical functions for patient areas of a medical center dedicated to the care of infants; children and adolescents. Participates in the orientation and development of new hires as part of the onboarding process. REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES * Environmental Management Ensures that within the division, all areas are organized and present a safe, accessible, effective and efficient environment for patients, families, visitors, and employees. Exhibits advanced knowledge and leadership in emergency situations by anticipating and alerting appropriate staff, and facilitating unit flow during emergencies. Maintains awareness of patient location and monitors traffic flow at the front desk and on the unit. Assists with compliance of visitor policies and applying arm bands for parents/caregivers. . Reports maintenance (wiping down monitors, troubleshooting printer issues, logging off information, etc.) and environmental service needs to appropriate division and follows-up to assure completion. Collaborates with clinical, admitting, information systems and environmental services staff to coordinate efficient patient flow. * Clerical Duties Demonstrates proficient practice in the operation of the nursing unit; maintains unit information systems to include-medical record integrity, forms management, timely response to faxes, printed material, mail, and accuracy of patient data, timely completion of admissions, discharges, transfers and short stay documentation. May provide administrative support on respective units (assists with scheduling and staffing needs, administrative tasks, etc.). Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and accountability with respect to patient charges/rental equipment, CCHMC charge capture procedures, and ensures that unit maintains a designated par level of clerical supplies. * Systems Management Identifies system problems and utilizes strategies for resolutions. Responds to communication system/patient alarms and executes with a sense of urgency. Reviews and revises staffing information. Establishes and follows up on information systems and broken equipment issues. Conducts unit-based audits on an ongoing basis and provides timely feedback and coaching as needed. May develop monitoring tools (spreadsheets) to allow accurate tracking/trending of issues/initiatives. Knowledgeable of available resources related to data management and tracking. * Communication May facilitate or participate in unit based/house wide performance improvement initiatives. Shares information to ensure all staff are up to date. Demonstrates the Cincinnati Children's CARES behaviors in all interactions with patients, families, visitors and co-workers by actively participating as a front-line example of extraordinary customer service and satisfaction; and interacts with patients/guardians to obtain non-clinical information as requested. Ensure and reviews timeliness, accuracy, availability and security of information. * Leadership Demonstrates emerging leadership behaviors by recommending or pursuing innovative approaches and scrutinizes practices to improve workflow. Fosters a positive work environment by maintaining smooth and efficient unit flow and is influential in encouraging unit/staff participation in the development of workflow improvement opportunities. Shares leadership responsibilities in teamwork and care delivery. Functions as a team leader and works collaboratively and independently with health team members. May provide periodic input for evaluations of team members by providing ongoing feedback in collaboration with Director/Manager and providing input on performance appraisals.
