Advertised Job Summary
Honors College staff members should possess a wide-ranging intellectual curiosity and a commitment to working with high-achieving students. Under limited supervision from the Assistant Dean for Enrollment Management, the College Recruiter will manage all aspects of the recruitment cycle for the Honors College. The Recruiter plans and leads information sessions and individual appointments with prospective families. The incumbent will also oversee the SCHC student ambassador program and the college's participation in summer orientation. The Recruiter manages and administers the SCHC current student and transfer student admission process. The incumbent will also coordinate the application and selection process for SCHC departmental scholarships.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 3 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with recruiting, working in higher education, and/or working with high ability students preferred. Experience at USC preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Well organized, have excellent written and oral communication skills, be able to deal diplomatically with various constituent groups and be proficient in Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret information accurately.

College Recruiting:
Plans, implements and evaluates Honors College events hosted in all aspects of the admissions timeline from recruitment to matriculation. This includes large information sessions and individual appointments for prospective students and families in collaboration with the Visitor Center. Serves as primary contact regarding inquiries from prospective students. Coordinates representation of Honors College at USC recruitment and yield events.

Ambassador Program:
Oversees honors student ambassador program, recruiting, selecting, hiring, training, scheduling and supervising students to participate in recruiting and yielding future SCHC students.

Transfer Student Admission Process:
Runs the application and transfer admission process for both current USC students and non-USC students into the college, including outreach, application process, selection, and notification. Assists potential applicants by conducting individual meetings. Develops and executes outreach to competitive applicants, including group presentations, with a focus on diversifying the Honors population.

SCHC Scholarships:
Manages all aspects of the SCHC scholarship process to ensure all available funding is awarded in a timely and thoughtful process. This includes working with various partners in the College and across the University. Assists the SCHC Development Office in stewarding scholarship donors.

New Student Orientation:
Manages and plans summer Freshman Orientation, advising and registration. Prepares presentation, materials, and handouts. Oversees the selection, training and supervision of Honors Orientation Student Leaders. Assesses Honors Orientation sessions and provides results to Honors College staff. Serves as the SCHC liaison with the Office of New Student Orientation and University Advising Center. Obtains and maintains records of students participating and advised in orientation, in collaboration with Student Services.
