As an integral member of the College of Nursing IT team, the IT Coordinator reports to the Manager, Nursing IT and provides technological and administrative support to administrators, faculty and staff in the implementation, integration, and use of technology within the College academic and work environment. This individual provides tier-one technical and administrative support to the College of Nursing guests, faculty, staff, and students with resolving and troubleshooting hardware, software, operating system, email and other technical or administrative support issues, in conjunction with other Nursing IT members and University Information Technology (UNIT). The IT Coordinator also provides technological/administrative support for College of Nursing onsite and virtual events, nursing simulation, and student online proctored exams simulating NCLEX testing. The IT Coordinator creates, runs, and disseminates reports using University data warehouse tools specific to requests and maintains various contact and mailing lists for the College. The Coordinator assists with the support and maintenance of the College website.

Duties and Responsibilities:

First Level Support

  • Provides front-line support to all FCN faculty, staff, students, and guests resolving and troubleshooting day to day hardware, software, mobile device, email, operating system, and others. Consults and collaborates with internal and external resources to find solutions to meet customer needs. Resolves or refers any issues to FCN or UNIT office as appropriate.

  • Assists in the implementation, integration, tracking, and use of hardware and software within the College academic and work environment.

  • Performs learning management system administration, data management, information system management, user support, and distance learning/online education initiatives.

  • Serves as a consultant and collaborator with the Simulation Operations Technician in maintaining the Simulation and Learning Resource Center software and hardware upgrades and fixes to ensure it meets operating system standards and specifications to meet University criteria.

  • Creates and maintains training and reference guides for faculty and staff on the use of available technology in the College including but not limited to Zoom, Global Protect VPN, MS Teams, ExamSoft, etc.

  • Maintains loaner pool of laptops for testing or other needs.

Exam Support

  • Provides technological support to faculty and students for student testing using ExamSoft (Exampilfy).

  • Performs Examsoft administrator functions including managing software updates, new user request, user account updates, and start/end of semester maintenance.

  • Provides on-hand support for all exams to troubleshoot technical issues.

Event Support

  • Provides technical and administrative support for Nursing events including, but not limited to, meetings, conferences, candidate presentations, and recruitment events, requiring some evenings and weekends.

  • Assists in event registration creation through Zoom webinar, Touchnet, or the website.

Database Management

  • Supports faculty and staff in the creation and distribution of surveys using various software such as Qualtrics and SimCapture.

  • Assists in creating, running and disseminating reports for administrators, faculty, and staff using university data warehouse tools related to student GPA, Academic Standing, mailing lists, etc.

  • Assists faculty with LMS, with grade book setup, quiz creation, content copying, etc.

Web/Internet

  • Updates College website pages (content pages, functional pages such as PDF applications or registration forms) using Adobe AEM in conjunction with administrators, staff, faculty, and/or others, according to Responsive Web Design (RWD) concepts, technical specifications, project needs and style guidelines.

  • Reviews, notifies or updates content identified on weekly error report outlining potential errors on the Nursing website.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

  • The equivalent of 3+ years of experience in first level technical / administrative support and some college/certificate completion may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Candidate must posses strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.

  • Must have the ability to prioritize various ongoing projects or tasks and have knowledge of current technologies.

  • Must convey a highly professional demeanor and be a team player, and demonstrate excellent customer service skills.

  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects/tasks with varied deadlines and frequent interruptions; communicate technical knowledge to people with varying degrees of IT knowledge; and maintain absolute confidentiality while understanding larger framework for detailed operation.

Technical Qualifications

  • Experience with the following: MS Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Teams), Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Premier Pro, etc.), Learning Management Systems, Zoom, Internet browsers (e.g. Mozilla Firefox, Chrome, and Safari), and networking systems concepts such as firewall, email, servers, network security, etc. Equipment Knowledge

  • Knowledge in the operation, configuration and maintenance of desktops, laptops, Macbooks, iPads, iPhones, Androids, electronic note takers printers, copiers, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer or related field

  • At least 5 years of academic experience in technical / administrative support role

  • Experience with the following preferred: Microsoft Office, Zoom, MS Teams, Learning Management Systems, MediaSite, , Argos, Banner, MS Bookings, ExamSoft, Team Dynamics.

  • Experience with Apple products, Windows products, mobile devices.

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:

Early mornings, evenings and weekends are required with advanced scheduling and some lifting of computer hardware and ability to bend down/climb under desks.
