Department Enrollment Services Reports To Enrollment Services

Position Summary

Responsible for facilitating all aspects of student recruitment and promotion of College of Ministry graduate programs to achieve enrollment of qualified students.

Essential Functions

Facilitates all aspects of recruitment through admission of new students:

  • Establishes rapport and builds program confidence with prospective students. Moves prospective students through the recruitment funnel to the point of matriculation and beyond.

  • Answers prospective student questions.

  • Contacts all inquiries for enrollment which includes but not limited to phone, e-mail, website, and text.

  • Performs, tracks, and maintains data entry associated with prospect, inquiry, and applicant processes in Salesforce.

  • Establishes routine email, text, and phone call campaigns to follow up on inquiries, started and submitted applications.

  • Makes recommendation to the Dean and Chair of Graduate Studies to admit or deny applicants.

  • Guides new students through admission, and hands them off to the College of Ministry Program and Administrative Coordinator and Chair of Graduate Studies.

  • Works with COM Graduate Studies and COEE in yearly enrollment projections.

Establish, promote, and negotiate recruitment contacts with churches, schools, Christian organizations, businesses, and corporations to attract qualified students:

  • Distributes and maintains quality control of promotional literature, which includes digital/electronic material and campaigns in coordination with Marketing, Admissions and COM departments.

  • Conducts on site PR visits.

  • Promotes COM Graduate programs at college fairs, denominational events, conferences, alumni events, and other events on and off campus.

  • Holds regular info sessions for COM Graduate programs.

  • Makes regular, ongoing, and expanding personal contacts with pastors, church leaders, and others.

Raises awareness of COM Graduate programs through marketing efforts:

  • Makes recommendations to the NU Marketing department for how to promote programs.

  • Collaborates with Marketing on digital/electronic marketing campaigns.

  • Collaborates with the Dean to allocate advertising monies to meet targeted recruiting goals; participates as one of the presenters and ambassadors for COM Graduate Studies.

  • Utilizes emerging means for increasing the number of prospective students at the top of the recruitment funnel, including but not necessarily limited to social media.

  • Maintains, in collaboration with Marketing and Admissions, the outward-facing COM Graduate Studies website.

  • Maintains Eagle site as needed.

Participates in the GRAD team meetings and serves in a liaison position to the COM department

  • Attends all GRAD team meetings.

  • Coordinates with efforts of COM Graduate Studies and meets regularly with COM Dean and COM Graduate Studies team.

Education/Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree required and master's degree preferred, excellent communication and people skills.

  • Strong sales background with the ability to convert applicants to matriculated status.

  • Strong computer skills in MS Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access), preferred experience in Salesforce

  • Exceptional people skills and customer service in addition to ability to build program credibility and confidence with potential students.

  • Strong public speaking & presentation skills for information sessions, church related speaking opportunities, job fairs, booths, etc.

  • Experience with churches, job fairs, booths, etc.

  • Ability to track and follow-through details (essential for contact follow-up)

  • Ability to track, prioritize, and meet work deadlines.

  • Professional image

  • A willingness to be flexible and accommodate COM's needs outside of general business hours.

  • Collaborator who is also a self-starter that can work independently.

  • Knowledgeable in graduate degrees and adult learning

  • Knowledge of and comfort with church culture and business community

  • Demonstrates commitment to maintaining a safe work environment free of harassment, violence, and unlawful discrimination.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, get along well with co-workers, and deal effectively and professionally with colleagues.

Working Environment

  • Work is performed indoors.

  • Some weekend/evening work required.

  • Travel, including overnight travel, is required.

  • Position works with strictly confidential information.

  • Requires work in outdoor weather conditions periodically.

  • Frequently required to be in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time.

Physical Demands

The functions are usually performed while sitting, but may involve some amount of standing, walking, carrying, reaching, stretching, climbing, performing repetitive motions of the hands or wrists and other movements. The abilities of seeing, hearing, and speaking are also required.

Compensation

Based on education and experience, the compensation range starts at $20.81/hour to a median of $22.40/hour.
