CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

The Department of Allied Health-Mental Health and Human Services at Kingsborough Community College, invites applications for a College Laboratory Technician (CLT) to support the EMS/Paramedic Program beginning fall 2020.

The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following duties:

  • Simulation and skills instruction for pre-hospital care skills.

  • Lecture and skills instruction for BCLS, ACLS and PALS.

  • Maintain simulation lab and coordinate with instructors for training.

  • Coordinate examination for EMT and Paramedic level students.

  • Develop and coordinate scenario workshops for faculty and students.

  • Coordinate inter-departmental scenario days among multiple departments.

  • Implement student advisement and mentoring.

  • Participate in departmental meetings, committee participation and college-wide activities.

  • Share responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory and other functions.

  • Maintenance of continuing education and current certifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma with a minimum of four years' related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate should possess the following credentials:

  • New York State Emergency Medical Technician
  • Paramedic
  • AHA BCLS, ACLS, PALS Certification

  • AHA BCLS Instructor

  • New York City REMAC Certified

  • NAEMT PHTLS Provider Certified

  • NAEMSE Instructor Level 1

  • New York State EMS Certified Instructor Coordinator (CIC), preferred

  • NAEMT Certified Instructor

  • Bachelors Degree or Master's Degree preferred

COMPENSATION

$40,627 - $65,011. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications

The Theatre Arts Program has five full-time faculty members, a full-time Technical Director and a team of six to ten part-time faculty. the program is housed in excellent theatre facilities on a 76-acre beachfront campus. Candidate will be expected to: * Oversee and execute the construction, alteration and maintenance of costumes for mainstage theatrical productions, assist guest costume designers and coordinate costuming needs for laboratory productions. * Prepare costume and performance laboratories for class use; supervise students working in laboratories for specific courses. * Maintain records regarding inventory and student lab hours and keep laboratory spaces in excellent condition and working order. * Assist with general theatre program duties * Sets up, maintains and organizes the costume shop laboratory and costume storage. * Serves as wardrobe supervisor and assistant for Theatre Arts Program mainstage productions and costume coordinator for laboratory productions. * Supervises the scheduling of laboratory spaces for students to fulfill required lab hours related to coursework. * Leads and coordinates the construction and maintenance of costumes for theatrical productions, as well as assisting in the execution other production requirements. * Provide additional technical theatre support for theatre classes and student projects.
