New York City College of Technology of the City University of New York (CUNY), a comprehensive college of 17,000 students in downtown Brooklyn, offering associate and baccalaureate degrees, invites applications for the position of College Laboratory Technician (CLT) to begin immediately.
The Department of Hospitality Management is recognized internationally as the premier hospitality management program of the City University of New York. The Department is accredited by Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration and offers both associate and bachelor's degrees.
The Hospitality Management CLT provides support in the culinary, pastry, beverage and dining room laboratories supporting faculty, staff and students. The CLT will be supervised by the Senior CLT. The responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Set-up of equipment displays and demonstrations and lab support for experiments and for research.
Adhering to the guidelines and policies as set by the Senior CLT as they relate to the storage and inventory of perishable and non-perishable goods.
Maintaining the laboratories and equipment.
Weekend, evening hours may be required, as necessary.
High School Diploma with a minimum of four years' related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience.
Food and beverage management industry experience.
Computer skills including MS Word, Excel and experience with inventory control software.
