Assist in the education of practical nurses and SCTCC health program students. Responsible for monitoring students in the nursing laboratory setting and coordinating schedules, equipment/supplies needed, all while evaluating the effectiveness.
Job Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
Assist faculty with the preparation, implementation and take down of laboratory and simulation experiences.
Expand knowledge of laboratory and simulation resources, including new technologies, computer software and hardware, and simulators.
Serve as a resource for supplies for the Simulation labs and for BITS-Health staff.
Coordinate Practical Nursing and Nursing Assistant skill clinicals with Program Director / Dean of Nursing and Health.
Lead lab assistant meetings on a monthly basis, by doing agenda and scheduling meetings.
Post-secondary degree: LPN or RN prepared
Ability to seek out and apply creative approaches to meeting requests from faculty and students
Ability to anticipate and address problems confronting students' use of equipment and in simulation
Creativity with regard to decisions and generation and use of resources
Knowledge of Nursing Programs and student handbooks
Knowledge of nursing communications, English as a Second Language, computer skills, study skills, etc.
Communication skills (verbal, written) are essential
Ability to learn to integrate use of simulation into learning
Ability to work independently in assisting students with lab resources
Knowledge of student support services such as career development and educational planning
Ability to work with administration, faculty, staff and agencies
Knowledge of the ADA and other legal and privacy issues
