  • Sales Engineering and are specifically looking for someone who has completed their junior year of college or greater. As a Sales Engineering College Intern, you will be responsible for preparing technical proposals for customers, under the supervision of the V.P. Sales, Sales Engineers, or Product Line Managers. Essential Functions ...

  • Must possess some engineering knowledge, material properties and particularly heat transfer.

  • Position requires the constant and consistent exercise of intellect, judgment, and ability commensurate with intern positions in similar industries or situations.

  • Position requires regular exercise of problem solving skills.

  • Ability to handle responsibilities with effective interpersonal skills and to effectively interface with others inside and outside the Company is required.

  • Must have strong communication skills and some background in basic engineering design.

  • Will evaluate customer specifications.

  • Will select equipment and prepare technical proposals, with some supervision.

  • Will have customer contact involved in and regarding industrial boilers and related auxiliaries.

  • Will perform detailed or routine engineering assignments such as assisting with the definition of technical specifications, basic design problem resolution, providing product support and assistance to other internal departments.

  • Will have design contact with Industrial boilers and related auxiliaries. Involvement with less complex aspects of engineering projects where limited evaluation is required. Refers problems and/or questions to engineering management or senior engineers.

  • Position may require extended periods of operating a personal computer as a normal part of job duties.

  • Position required ability to work in a normal office environment and may require occasional/regular exposure to production plant environment with welding, machine and fabrication operations.

  • Apply intellect, creativity, adaptability, judgment, and management skills to achieve required results.

  • Ensure duties and company projects are accomplished in an efficient and cost effective manner.

  • Support peers and management with internal and external projects.

  • Adhere to company policies.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Do You Qualify ...

Education:

  • Mechanical Engineering (or related) student who has completed their sophomore or junior year of college preferred

Experience:

  • Some engineering experience helpful;

  • Ability to use Excel including uniting calculation programs in Excel; Visual Basic programming experience helpful.

Physical Skill and Effort ...

  • Work requires highly skilled, precise, complicated, rapid and closely coordinated manual skill.

  • Work involves fairly light and simple types of physical exertion.

Working Conditions and Hazards ...

  • Normal plant, shop, field or office conditions.

  • From time to time, slightly disagreeable features; negligible/little or no exposure.

We offer a competitive hourly pay rate; 40 hours per week preferred in the summer; or flexible part-time hours that will work with a college schedule; potential for 10 to 40 hours per week as per business need.
