Young Life in the Raleigh area was established in 1985 and has continued to steadily grow and develop from one school to a diverse and complex county ministry involving five unique areas. After decades of developing college students to serve as leaders in high schools and middle schools in the community, Young Life College was established in 2014 to help college students all over the spiritual map to take their next steps toward knowing and following Jesus.

The Young Life College ministry in Raleigh is structured to have a full time College Director on point with additional full time and part time staff as needs and resources allow. North Carolina State University, located in Raleigh, North Carolina, is a renowned public research university known for its emphasis on science, technology, engineering, and agriculture. With a sprawling campus and a rich history dating back to 1887, it fosters innovation, academic excellence, and community engagement with over 26,000 undergraduate students enrolled. The Young Life College ministry is a "stand-alone" area with its own committee, budget and area number, and works cooperatively and collaboratively with the other four surrounding areas to reach adolescents (ages 11-24) all around Wake County.

Over the past 10 years there has been a flurry of ministry presence at Meredith College, Peace College and Wake Tech Community College. Our hope is that we could continue to grow to serve more of the students and universities in the Wake County area.

Responsibilities:

• Spiritual Leadership: "Following Jesus" includes prayer and spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth and health, and church relationships.

• Leadership Development: "Equipping leaders, committee, and staff" includes key volunteer care, recruiting, team building and training, supervision, and vision casting.

• Resource Development: "Fueling the ministry" includes events, major donor care, public relations (branding), and working with a fundraising team.

• Direct Ministry: "Proclaiming and modeling" includes contact work, club, campaigners, and camp.

• Ministry Support: "Taking care of business" includes accounting, administration, communication (internal), data management, and strategic plan.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrates spiritual leadership on a personal and ministry level

• Loves people and displays a high relational capacity

• Possesses a heart for the lost, wounded and disenfranchised

• Understands the importance of multiplying his or her Kingdom impact by recruiting and training leaders for Christ

• Desires to work closely with others to accomplish complex, multi-faceted goals

• Is wholly committed to developing the ongoing infrastructure (staff, committee, donor base, volunteer leaders) around the ministry in order to leaving the ministry better than they found it

• A curious missionary committed to the principles of incarnational ministry and willing to adapt and change methods as necessary to successfully impact students.

• A passionate developer of people; particularly the development of students into servant leaders both inside and outside of Young Life.

• This is a highly relational position and therefore we are desiring a candidate that is deeply in love with Jesus, desires all to know Him and take their next steps in faith with Him, and creating life long disciples of Jesus.

• Able to raise a minimum of $35,000 in personal support.
