The Ohio State University invites applications for the position of College and Regional Recruiting and Enrollment Specialist on the Mansfield campus. As a member of the admissions team at The Ohio State University at Mansfield, the admissions counselor will spend the greatest amount of time through the year performing the following job responsibilities: managing a recruitment territory; executing territory specific recruitment activities and events using data to make recruitment decisions; developing and maintaining positive relationships with high schools, community based organizations, and community colleges; traveling to high schools, community colleges, and college fairs to represent The Ohio State University with possible travel, largely within the state of Ohio, up to 7 weeks per year. Additional responsibilities include making recruitment calls to prospective students, learning, and using the CRM (Salesforce) system, Student Information System, and other technologies to perform timely and accurate entries into databases regarding student application information, call/email activity and other processes, and carrying out special projects as assigned.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: counseling and corresponding with students, families, university departments, or other stakeholders regarding The Ohio State University application and enrollment policies, procedures, and general information over the phone, via email, and in person; conducting large and small-group presentations; learning and maintaining knowledge of the areas within the office and university to best direct questions from staff and guests; researching and resolving problems in a timely manner and escalating them when appropriate; assisting with on and off campus recruitment events and projects; coordinating recruitment for special programs, as assigned, which may include transfer, veterans, and College Credit Plus; serving as the coordinator for administrative tasks that support recruitment and enrollment of new students; carrying out steps and coordinating with colleagues and other campus partners to achieve success; participating as an active community member of the Ohio State Newark admissions team through membership on committees; and completing special assignments and other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties

50%: manage a recruitment territory; execute territory specific recruitment activities and events using data to make recruitment decisions; develop and maintain positive relationships with high schools, community-based organizations, and community colleges; travel to high schools, community colleges, and college fairs to represent The Ohio State University with possible travel, largely within the state of Ohio, up to 7 weeks per year. 20%: serve as the coordinator for administrative tasks that support recruitment and enrollment of new students; carry out steps and coordinate with colleagues and other campus partners to achieve success.

5% participate as an active member of the Ohio State Mansfield community through membership on committees; complete special assignments and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Conflict resolution skills

Demonstrated ability to collaborate

Program planning and implementation

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field

Early morning, evening, and weekend hours required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Work experience at a school/college/university, admissions preferred

up to 2 years of experience in admissions or other relevant experience

Knowledge of data interpretation

Knowledge of Salesforce and Peoplesoft

This position is located at the Mansfield campus in Mansfield, Ohio and the target hiring range is $17.18 to $22.59/hour.

Additional Information:

The Ohio State University at Mansfield offered its first classes in 1958. The Mansfield campus sits on 640 acres and shares the campus with North Central State College.

The campus is a thriving model for sustainability and environmental/natural resources experiential education and hands-on research. The campus has a 20-acre sugar bush used for maple syrup production; vernal pools, pine plantations, wetlands, and stream heads; and an ecolab collaboration with the School of Environment and Natural Resources. The two institutions have their own administrative leadership and governance structure, but partner through several shared services, including security, campus recreation, facilities, and several student events and programs.

Ohio State Mansfield currently enrolls 828 students who are taught and supported by 28 tenure track or tenured professors. The campus focuses on the success of a student academically (small class size; innovative instruction methods; undergraduate research opportunities; easy access to faculty and staff; new programs and facilities), but also the success of students as a person.
