The Team Coordinator is an informal leader and subject matter expert on the collections team whom assists with daily operations of the team. In addition to performing accurate and timely collection activities on a high volume of accounts, this role is responsible for training, coaching and support of team members as needed in daily activities.
Independently performs collection responsibilities at an expert level across multiple divisions to include outbound/inbound customer contact, establishing payment plans, holding orders, making recommendation for bad debt write-off, legal action or turn over to third party collection agency.
Leads training program and provides daily mentoring and coaching of team members.
Identifies and assesses future and current training needs and ensures all documents and guidelines are current.
Manages distressed or escalated accounts as assigned.
Manages third party placement agencies and performance. First point of escalation for bad debt placements.
Conducts performance audits and compiles and analyzes data, provides individual feedback.
Collects and analyzes KPI's and metrics and reports to leadership.
Leads, identifies and initiates department projects.
Coaches compliance on all policies and procedures.
Participates in the interview and hiring process.
Provides support to leadership as needed.
Manages execution of team's daily work.
Associates Degree Required - Degree Preferred. Willingness to complete a degree required.
A minimum of 7 years related experience with progressive responsibilities required.
Desire for continued leadership development and growth.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate detailed information in a clear, easy to understand manner.
High level of proficiency in working with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Display strong analytical, organizational, time-management, and problem solving skills.
Willingness and ability to work in fast paced environment with multiple tasks and deadlines.
Demonstrated conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
Exercises sound judgement and adherence to department policy and procedures.
Works under limited supervision and has above average attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
Experience training others is preferred.
