Job Summary

Leads and supervises an operational team in insurance operations and/or customer service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1.Assigns, distributes and coordinates workflow for the team with other teams in the area ensuring consistent, efficient and timely delivery of service.
2.Develops and uses work management and forecasting tools to allocate resources, facilitate efficient processes and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
3.Develops and maintains relationships and resolves operational and procedural difficulties/issues with management, work teams and customers.
4.Generates ideas for improvements within the team or department and implements approved changes; drives continuous improvement.
5.Participates in meetings to set direction, establish stretch performance goals, communicate status and discuss issues that impact service levels. Represents the team in meetings with management and other Strategic Business Units (SBUs).
6.Participates in staff management, including but not limited to job candidate interviewing, and making recommendations on staff performance assessment and development.
7.Manages and monitors overtime spending and provides input into annual budget forecast.
8.May perform quality reviews of staff and business processes.
9.Prepares and distributes management reports (i.e. production/quality).

May perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
1.Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience and completion of applicable insurance courses.
2.Typically a minimum of three years experience in a specific function or field of expertise.

This position is responsible for the implementation and ongoing support of Applications in the Claims, and Billing & Collections Portfolios. This includes developing and implementing strategies for moving these applications to cloud environments and rationalizing applications overall. This position leads a collaborative and Agile Scrum software development approach that improves velocity and cost effectiveness, while maintaining a strong focus on both quality and scalability. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines: * Implements strategic objectives with substantial impact on the short-term success for assigned systems application portfolio. * Establishes and communicates overall direction for assigned systems application portfolio, working in concert with Architecture to ensure applications are built and implemented as designed. * Drives the cultural changes necessary to enable a continuous delivery model and foster a strong focus on automation of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in an Agile Scrum and waterfall project environment. * Serves as a thought leader, transformation driver, and partner to IT leadership team in identifying emerging technology trends, especially in the area of SaaS and cloud computing, and ensure the company is leveraging them when appropriate to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and drive business value * Works with other areas across IT, especially in regards to application programming interfaces (APIs), to plan for, refactor and move applications and systems to cloud environments per agreed-upon plans * Delivers results, creating value for the CNA brand, customers, and key internal stakeholders by ensuring reliable, cost effective, cloud ready and optimized business operations utilizing information technology applications and tools * Mentors, coaches, develops, and encourages excellence from the team, providing leadership and full management accountability to the team with emphasis on talent management and succession planning in accordance with corporate and strategic direction * Fosters a strong customer service mind-set throughout the application development team, while championing thought leadership and partnership with the business * Seeks out, validates, and brings to the technology organization innovative best practices and ideas from the outside, with a particular emphasis on application development methodologies May perform additional duties as assigned.
