Position Collections Specialist Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Location Accounting Description

Reybold is a a Construction and Property Management Company that has several Residential and Commercial Properties throughout Delaware that is a seeking a Collections Specialist who is responsible for contacting former tenants regarding unpaid balances previously written off as bad debt; persuading them to pay the balance due to avoid litigation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Locating former tenants

  • Making telephone calls

  • Composing/sending letters

  • Tracking tenant payments

  • Cross-referencing skip data

  • Complying with fair debt collections rules/laws

  • Independently accessing tenant and property-level data and updating the general ledger

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the Tenant Landlord Code and appropriate application of its provisions.

  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Minimum of 1 year experience with credit and collections

  • Minimum of 1 year experience using Microsoft Office products

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Formal training in Landlord Tenant Code and related topics is a plus

Competencies

  • Strong persuasive power

  • Excellent negotiation skills

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Must possess quick thinking skills

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Ability to handle confrontation appropriately and professionally

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit at a desk while using a computer and phone for extended periods of time

Work Environment

  • Quiet office environment
