We're looking for an excited, hands-on individual to join the Revenue Operations team as a Collections Specialist. As a part of this position you will be required to work closely with our Business & Enterprise level customers to resolve any questions, concerns, or disputes to ensure timely payment of invoices. This role requires the willingness to work cross-functionally with all departments at Box including Sales, Customer Success, Engineering, & Marketing. A successful candidate must have the ability to operate effectively in a fast moving environment as well as the desire to contribute to a hardworking team dynamic.


  • Maintain customer and partner relationships to ensure timely payment of invoices.

  • Contribute to company collection goals as it relates to maintaining AR aging, increasing collection rates, and decreasing day's sales outstanding.

  • Oversee daily cash application processes ensure all payments are applied against invoices in a timely manner.

  • Work closely with customer procurement teams to complete all necessary documentation to ensure timely payment.

  • Effectively communicate payment delays to internal leadership team and appropriately prioritize escalations.

  • Contribute to process & system improvements as Box continues to scale.

  • Help with any additional projects related to Revenue Operations and Finance as they arise.


  • BA/BS or equivalent in (Business Administration, Finance, Accounting plus)

  • 2 or more years of Accounts Receivables and/or Collections experience

  • 1 or more years of customer service experience is a plus

  • A friendly demeanor and enthusiasm for an operational, yet customer facing role.

  • Ability to practice good judgment while ensuring policy and processes are followed.

  • Self-motivated and self-managed - able to think independently, creatively, and opportunistically

  • Overly organized, great attention to detail, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

The Collections Specialist will be accountable for the day to day activities supporting the maximization of cash collections and minimization of bad debt through the enforcement of Mitel collections policy and credit terms. Responsibilities * You will be directly managing a portfolio of Connect Cloud customer accounts: * Execute the documented collections process to support corporate-wide DSO goal and maximize cash collections every month. * Follow the documented service interruption process to minimize bad debt exposure * Address customer billing disputes and other customer issues in a timely manner and tracking cases through to final resolution * Update customer contact information promptly and accurately across all relevant database platforms * Document collection activities and customer correspondence as directed * Leverage technology and work tools to maximize peak efficiency and effectiveness in performing your responsibilities * Understand our policies and processes, suggesting improvements, as necessary, driving best practices for our team * Be proactive in the identification of opportunities to improve performance (system, procedural or behavioural). Drive best practice by the formulation and delivery of enhancements that identify and eliminate process issues / gaps * Be an advocate for the Mitel Collections policy, communicating and enforcing it, as necessary, both internally and externally, to ensure understanding and compliance. * Work closely with operational teams (Customer Support, Customer Success, Project Management, Cash Applications, and others) to foster strong cross-functional relationships * Other miscellaneous duties as assigned Changing business strategies and aggressive growth aspirations result in a constant need for evolution / change. Skills What we need you to have: * Previous collections experience (minimum of 5 years), preferably in a telecom or cloud environment, but not mandatory * Experience of managing collections portfolio in an evolving, fast paced, high-volume and challenging environment * Billing dispute and customer case management * Customer focus and empathy, ability to clearly communicate with customers on the telephone and through email * Proactive approach to developing and enhancing systems and processes * A driver of change and experienced in performing under pressure * A high level of numeracy and PC literacy (including comprehensive Excel knowledge) * The ability to work with others in a dynamic, fast moving environment * Excellent people skills enabling continued support, motivation and development * Strong communication skills with the ability to forge collaborative relationships throughout the business, internally and externally * Able to review and challenge understandings to propose change, cross-functionally and downstream impacts * Goal oriented and results driven * Must be flexible to meet business requirements and deadlines * Experience and knowledge of Salesforce is preferred * Experience and knowledge of CostGuard is preferred * Experience and knowledge of credit card processing and AUTO PAY programs * Experience and knowledge of MRR, early termination fees and contracts * Willingness to accept and seek additional training, and continuously improve job skills and knowledge of our business Mitel provides equal opportunities to all applicants and employees.
