  • Document all customer payments to the right reports

  • Identify delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. skip-tracing, written correspondence, phone contact, and making arrangements for payment

  • Accurately process bankruptcy filings when received

  • Manage inbound and outbound collections calls and correspondence

  • Process Payments

  • Oversee and update customer files to ensure data consistency

  • Act as liaison in maintaining quality customer service and a positive company image by resolving customer account inquiries

  • Comply with all rules and regulations established by the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act

  • Administer all billing and reporting activities in response to deadlines


  • Ability to survey and make decisions regarding customer accounts

  • AA or BS/BA in Accounting preferred

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Prior experience working with collections/accounting software

  • Excellent verbal, written, and social skills

The Accounts Receivable, Credit and Collections Specialist is responsible for creating customer invoices, inter-company billings, assisting with inter-company account reconciliations, customer cash application, reconciling customer account balances, and performing credit analysis and collection on accounts. This position will also be responsible for Accounts Receivable (AR) Customer Master data maintenance, ensuring tax withholding certificates are current for each customer, assisting with monthnd, quarter end and year end close processes as required. Providing AR business process documentation and reconciliations. Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BFDX's Quality System. * Working knowledge of ERP systems and the Accounts Receivable function as well as foundational understanding of debits and credits as they relate to AR. * Invoicing all shipments, matching freight and related shipping expenses with specific invoices, and correctly invoicing the customer for freight. * Processing customer credit memos. * Processing credit card payments in credit card processing module. * Cash application of credit card payments, ACH/Wire payments and check payments for all customers. * Understand and maintain parent/child relationships in customer hierarchies. * Evaluate all new customer account applications for credit worthiness and setup new customer accounts. * Make collection calls for outstanding past due invoices, maintain customer credit limits, place accounts on hold as necessary for collections. Create and update a monthly collection report with aged invoices and related notes by customer including payment plans. * Interact with the AR/AP Manager, Controller, and/or Legal on any customer bankruptcies, fraud, or reorganizations. * Provide input and any required testing for any changes in the AR database. * Work with internal and external customers to provide data as requested. * Assist with the annual audit and any related interim procedures. * Filing and monthly statement processing for all customers. * Monthly account reconciliations as assigned. * Other special projects as assigned. Qualifications Training and Education: High School Diploma or GED, some college level accounting courses or equivalent work experience. Experience: Five or more years of AR, credit and collections experience, preferably in Medical/Life Science industry. Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, Microsoft Office, and Internet. Experience with MAS500 and SAP preferred but not required. Physical Requirements: May be required to lifted boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. Biofire Diagnostics Salt Lake City UT
