Description

As a member of Santander's retail banking division you'll help serve Santander's retail and small business customers as part of one of the top banks in the United States based on deposits. With principal presence in the northeast U.S., Santander's retail division offers consumer and lending products to help our customers reach their financial goals. Santander currently serves nearly 2 million retail customers and 5.2% of the 2.7 million small businesses in the US footprint have a transactional account with Santander Bank.

In this role you will be responsible for the collection of past due consumer loan, overdraft and credit card accounts via telephone contact with customers. Resolve customer issues with regard to their outstanding loan balance. Negotiate repayment terms with customers in accordance with bank guidelines while consistently providing superior service to our customer.

  • Identify customer service issues and route them to the appropriate area for resolution. Provide first-tier support to resolving customer service issues

  • Advise customers of their responsibilities under terms of contract.

  • Provide individual loan counseling on acceptable repayment terms.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must be available to work Saturdays and some evenings.

Qualifications

  • HS Graduate or Equivalent Associate's degree in business, finance or accounting preferred

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Knowledge of banking and prior collections experience preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and Access

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

  • Excellent organizational and decision making skills

Manages and establishes compliance and oversight functions for Collections Operations.Responsible for gathering and analyzing internal audit feedback and overseeing the implementation of recommendations and findings as applicable.Designs and leads implementation of new processes and other improvement measures for Collections Operations, based on internal and external audit recommendations, State, Federal and Bank Rules, Regulations and Policies.Identifies improvement opportunities through a variety of sources: floor observations, discussions with Management, analysis of current processes and audit recommendations and establishes and authorizes the implementation of new solutions based on detailed analysis and validation of processes. Additionally, the Compliance Manager position is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance in respect to regulatory guidelines and Bank P&Ps.This position will partner with the department Operations Managers throughout the organization to ensure alignment with bank compliance and training needs and requirements. The position requires capacity to influence others using strong interpersonal and analytical skills and a strong knowledge of the policies, procedures and compliance of Santander Bank with the goal of improving the quality of collections and the compliance with all the regulation, policies and procedures. Responsibilities * Designs and implements methodology to review collection operations processes impacting the departments capacity to achieve customer satisfaction and identifies improvement opportunities; determines remedy action plans and programs for non-compliance situ, * Develops training strategy and materials for Collections Operations. * Provides consultation on training development of all agents. * Review performance of analysts and training managers on a daily weekly and monthly basis. * Perform coaching and mentoring as required. * Complete formalized annual reviews. * Manages all aspects of the development, implementation and maintenance of effective compliance programs for Collections Operations. * The Manager will identify, assess, implement and communicate regulatory issuances and when necessary, oversee the update, * Review and revise, as necessary or as requested, policies, procedures, letters and documentation to ensure compliance with applicable laws and bank policy, providing consistency in problem resolution. * Review, approve and maintain documentation of all co,Oversee and manage all regulatory inquiries from State, Federal and Bank regulators and auditors and ensure that all requests are performed with the time budget allotted. * Researches findings and recommendations from internal and external audits and review, * Responsible for ongoing evaluation of controls and control documentation and identifies assessment areas needing improvement to ensure consistency in quality and clarity of these documents. * Recommend and oversee development of action plans to address id.
