Collections Representative - Billing

Golden State Dermatology (GSD) is a comprehensive medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology practice with locations throughout the Bay area and central California. Due to its long-established reputation in each of its markets. GSD has a robust referral network and offers in-house Mohs surgery for the treatment of skin cancer. In addition, GSD offers a comprehensive Suite of cosmetic services. We are committed to providing excellent and personalized care to all patients.

The Collector duties will include, but won't be limited to:

• Work account aging reports and meet collection goals.

• Review denied claims in a timely manner and contact insurance companies to obtain information as necessary.

• Re-bill corrected claims as necessary

• Ability to read chart notes and documentation

• File appeals and disputes (first level, second level, peer to peer)

• Communicate professionally with insurance companies, physicians, and clinic staff

• Meet productivity daily goals.

• Identify trends in aging reports

• Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications/Skills

• Minimum of 1-year billing experience

• Understanding of EOBS, Medicare guidelines, LCD, CCI edits, and appeals processes

• Be familiar with payer dispute process and timely filing guidelines

• Be familiar with modifiers

• Experience with payer portals

• Experience with eCW and EMA (Modernizing Medicine) a plus

• Microsoft Word and Excel
